We discovered Blairpen House about 15 years ago. It was our first visit to the Shaw Festival and the first year of Blairpen's operation. We go every year and have stayed nowhere else. Tim and Sharon the hosts are welcoming and friendly. Breakfast is great-Tim makes his own yogourt, and in season it is accompanied by local blueberries. Each comfortable room has it's own patio and there is a large garden with a gazebo for friendly gatherings. There is also a library and sitting room for chillier weather. It is in walking distance of all the theatres and the main street but away from traffic and bustle. Many of the other guests that we meet there return every year which says a lot in it's favour. We hope to visit for many more years.

Room Tip: Beds are queen size except for the honeymoon suit that has a king size bed. This can also be separated into two twins. There is no elevator but there are rooms on the ground floor if stairs are a problem.

What a nice thing to wake up to -- the enticing aroma of bread baking. That's part of the continental breakfast served here, which also includes yogurt, cereal, fruit, cheese meats and granola. Inn has an excellent location, super close to the Festival Theater and a medium hike to the downtown area. Free parking behind the inn (an important plus for this town, where parking can be at a premium).
Host Tim and assistant Sharon were always friendly and helpful. The two drawing/sitting rooms offer a beautiful place to read and relax when it's too hot or cold to sit outside. Our downstairs room was large, always clean and comfortable. I do agree with another reviewer about the towels; a bit too thin.
Enjoy -- a great value in a great town!

We always come to the Blairpen House when we see plays at the Shaw Festival. We love the delicious breakfasts, the comfortable rooms, sitting on the patio or in the garden in good weather, and sitting by the gas fire in the drawing room when June turns cold and rainy. We can walk to all the theaters and to all the great places to have lunch and supper. Tim and Sharon do everything to make us feel at home, so we look forward to each visit. Barbara and Sidney

My mother and I go to Niagara on the Lake every year for the wonderful theater, but it is SO much more delightful because we can stay at Blairpen House. Tim and Sharon are terrific hosts, the rooms are very comfortable, the breakfast is terrific, and it's within easy walking distance of the theaters and shops. It is just such a wonderfully nice place to stay, and much more affordable than the refurbished hotels in town. Note that this B&B is only for adults, which makes it delightfully peaceful for us adults. I can't image staying anywhere else.

I hesitate reviewing this inn because I honestly don't want it to get popular. I want to continue to be able to book my room here whenever we want to run up to NotL. But the Blairpen deserves a stellar rating. Tim, the innkeeper, is a wonder. He bakes his own bread and makes his own yogurt for the impressive breakfast each and every morning, assisted by Sharon, who makes the sweets for it. The rooms are immaculate, and THERE IS NO TV, thank heavens. The inn is within a very short walking distance to downtown, and Tim is a font of information about...oh, EVERYTHING: wineries, restaurants, shopping, whatever. This is also a CHILDFREE accommodation, which is also wonderful.

Room Tip: first floor rooms have better wifi
