We visited Niagara-on-the-lake over the 4th of July weekend. It was our first visit. We came to enjoy the theater festival and explore some of the local wineries.
When trying to find a place to stay, we were stumped by how expensive all the hotels were. We didn't want to consider B&B as we 're not big fans of forced socializing with strangers. But not wanting to spend a fortune on the lodging we reluctantly decided on Orchid Inn. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised! The place was simply lovely! Our room was well decorated - cozy yet modern. Flat screen TV and a fireplace were great additions. The bathroom was full of light with a nice bathtub and a massaging shower head.
Everything was sparkling clean. Cindy was very hospitable. She was very considerate and made sure she got our dietary restrictions. I don't eat pork products, which eliminates a whole slew of breakfast choices. Cindy went out of her way to make us breakfast that didn't include any pork. We stayed for two nights and both breakfasts were delicious, hearty yet healthy and not at all greasy. They were also served with an amazing speed, so we didn't have to wait long to start our days. Also, breakfasts were served in the Ginger restaurant that's part of the B&B, so we had our own table and total privacy as we like it.
Though Orchid Inn is not downtown and you do need a car to get to the heart of the town, the experience of staying here trumps that inconvenience.
The price of a stay at Orchid Inn is very competitive, the house is beautiful and well maintained, the food is great and the hostess is warm but not intruding. We felt very well taken care of and would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for lodging in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Excellent food, great hospitality, comfortable accomodation and breathe taking environment.
Artistic decoration throughout the entire place. They treat you like a king (or Queen). You wouldn't believe the pretty floral and aroma everywhere.
The price is good too. I am looking forward to going back again.

We (a 26/30-year old couple) spent one night in Niagara-on-the-Lake (our second visit to the region) and were thrilled with our decision this trip to stay at the Orchid Inn.

As I read in one of the other reviews, this Inn combines the coziness and intimacy (and free breakfast!) of a B&B with the privacy of a hotel. We loved the warm greeting from Cindy (who brought us two wine glasses when she saw the bottle we had brought with us) and the friendly service from the staff at the restaurant; but were equally relieved to come and go anonymously and to have breakfast privately, without having to make small talk.

As far as the room was concerned, the bed was FANTASTIC (we stayed in the King suite), the fireplace a great cozy touch, and the bathroom large, spotless and modern. Breakfast was fast and delicious - blueberry french toast with cream cheese filling and sausage. Yum! We walked to and from the downtown strip - about 15 minutes either way.

We generally don't like to stay at the same place twice, but I think we might make an exception for the Orchid Inn! It was everything we were looking for for our romantic weekend out of the city.

We stayed at the Orchid Inn during the last few days of our honeymoon. We were so happy with the Orchid Inn, it was the perfect end to our trip. The location was excellent, rooms clean and very tastefully decorated, but the most memorable part of our stay was how well Cindy treated us. She was a thoughtful and personable host. She greeted us on arrival and made sure we were settled in. She even found a vase for my bouquet, which was looking a little wilted since the wedding. Another example, we decided to bike to Niagara Falls one day, a pretty long haul. When we got back we were very tired and looking forward to a soak in the big tub in our room. Cindy had left epsom salts by the bath to soothe our sore muscles. Also, the Ginger Restaurant was phenomenal. The chef is one of Cindy's sons, who is as friendly and thoughtful as his mother. Breakfast is served in the restaurant also and was always excellent. We can't say enough good things about the Orchid Inn.

We've just returned from a weekend trip in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. As always we greatly enjoyed ourselves. We've stayed @ several hotels during our twice yearly visits to NOTL, and have yet to be disappointed in any of them. This weekend we stayed @ a little family run inn called The Orchid Inn. Cindy Chung and family we very friendly, accomodating, and inviting throughout our stay. There is a great little restaurant attached to this inn - The Ginger Restaurant- that has fabulous food, and great service! The rooms are very tastefully decorated, and impeccably clean. All the comforts of a B+B, but with a little extra privacy that you would find in a larger hotel. It seems they have paid attention to every detail possible! This place is fantastic, best bang for the buck in NOTL! We will definitely return to this lovely little place!
