I really wasn't expecting much as a family death changed our plans around the Labor Day weekend. We needed a few days to decompress and absorb the loss following a tense week in Chicago on the way back to NY. My wife in the midst of grieving just booked a place she could find in the quiet town of Niagara on the Lake. Accommodations were great; room 5 included a nice king bed, leather love seat, chair and a funky ottoman. When we arrived the owner made sure to get us the "scoop" on the touristy cutesy part of town a 4-5 blocks away, where to rent bikes, wine tours etc. It was overwhelming as we just left an internment a day earlier, but actually helped set us up for a relaxing couple days. Breakfast that was included: wow!! We had a homemade banana muffin, wonder sausage piece, exotic egg bake, toast, and a peach baked in cream with berries. My wife and I raved about every single item. I ate everything she couldn't. Best breakfast I have ever had. Biking along the Niagara, through town and on the road parallel to Lake Ontario were all great. There's was a fresh hand made ice cream place Avondale, that was a 15 minute drive YUM! Wineries were everywhere. Come enjoy, unwind and have fun.
