Don't judge it from the outside. The stripmall location may not look promising from the outside, but once you enter it has a great atmosphere. The service is excellent, everyone made us feel welcome -- they seemed glad we were there. They are very kid friendly as well; all sauces could be served " on-the-side" , they also own the pizza place next door and offered items from there; In our case they even created a dish on the spot with farm fresh ingredients to my daughter's specifications (homemade pasta with cheese and asparagus). Everything we had was delicious..from appetizers through dessert. We've eaten at a lot of good restaurants, but this was one of the best..the fact that they were so accommodating to a family with children makes it a truly special place

This restaurant was recommended by a server at a place in Niagara Falls, and by reviewers on Trip Advisor. Still, it didn't look like much when we drove up to the strip mall. So glad we went inside! The atmosphere is rather dark, but there is a lively vibe. We ate early as we found ourselves at the end of the wine tasting route earlier than we had planned. No problem finding us a good table.
We had just tasted a fabulous $50 Cabernet Franc at one of the local wineries - and we were thrilled to see the same wine on the menu for only $52!! The markup on wine usually means paying double.
We split 2 appetizers - the endive salad and the charcuterie plate. Again, the salad was brought out already split up for us - a classy move in my books - and the charcuterie plate was generous for 2. Everything is made in house, and delicious. The chicken liver mousse was fabulous! The endive salad was also great, with very tasty accents of smoked trout, and not an excessive amount of dressing. As mains, we had the confit of duck, and the smoked chicken pasta. Both were superb.
When we groaned and decided to share 1 chocolate mousse for dessert, the waiter brought us a complimentary toffee pudding because he said we 'had to try it'. Embarrassed to say we almost finished them both! The mouse was not very mousse-y, but was solid chocolate, so can't complain. The rhubarb froth on top was just the right contrast. The sticky toffee pudding was also super, but the caramel sauce, bits of apple and maple marscapone.
Service was warm and friendly, but totally professional. A wonderful evening all round!

This was long our single favorite place to eat in NOTL -- which is saying a lot. Some of our most enjoyable meals had been here over the years. But, it is now a restaurant in transition with respect to the kitchen. As a recent review very cogently pointed out "changes in the kitchen are apparent". The long time chef left a while back and we understand his replacement is on the way out. The former development was very unfortunate but the latter development may turn out to be a plus. We were disappointed by our lunch. Let me be very clear. We were disappointed because our expectations, on past experience, were very, very high. The meals were still by any reasonable standard very good meals. But simply not up to what we had had at the SRG. I had a long-time favorite of mine,. the mussels and frites. The former had been unnecessarily and unsuccessfully gussied up as "jerk mussels" and for the latter a perfectly serviceable and I presume straight out of the bottle ketchup had been replaced by a house made ketchup that that I might call indifferent. Still a good meal? Sure. But a classic case of fixing what ain't broke. Apart from that it was still the same great SRG. Greeted by name by Heidi, interesting music tracks playing, interesting decor and nothing wrong with the service. Pricing appropriate to fine dining in NOTL. Still okay to go there? Sure, but I'll be eager to see what happens when they get a new chef.

We got a late reservation and found the place very lively. It seemed to draw a younger crowd (we are retired) with an upscale feel. Once we were seated, didn't feel out of place and service was excellent. The décor is red, dark and modern. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. The menu is limited so you might want to check online before you make a reservation. The food was very good. The chocolate mouse dessert was thick and creamy. There were four of us and all had good things to say about the place. Bill was just under $100 with dinner, drinks and dessert.

Don't let the strip mall location concern you. When you walk inside the atmosphere, although dark, is perfect. The menu is unusual but please try whatever sounds interesting to you. Your server will explain each dish if you ask. From wine, to appetizer to main course to dessert everything we ate and drank was very good. We wish we lived closer so we could go back regularly. Call ahead for dinner reservations it filled up fast when we were there.
