The tour of Rideau Hall is very interesting and the guides have a wealth of knowledge. This is a great piece of Canadian heritage. Even if you don't want to go on the tour, I'd recommend going just to tour the grounds. It truly is a beautiful place. (A particular favourite for me was seeing which foreign dignitaries planted which trees.) Make a day of it -- go for a nice family walk and bring a lunch. I can't wait to go back in the fall.
