Spacious rooms, loved the wood finishings and decor. The beds were nice and high, pillows and duvet covers were very comfortable. Room was well kept, amenities were plentiful. Great for a weekend stay!

My wife and I and a friend of my wife's stayed in a two bedroom suite while visiting Ottawa for the Blues Fest in July 2014 and wanted to stay at a higher end hotel near the festival sight. We chose the Albert at Bay because of its location, the great rate we received and because we knew that we would be treated like royalty by hotel staff based on previous experience with this hotel. When in Ottawa don't think twice - stay at the Albert at Bay. The rooms are great. The location is perfect for both access to the parliament buildings, the war museum, the National Gallery, the By Town Market but the hotel has the feel of a neighbourhood hotel rather than a faceless downtown chain hotel. Bernadette at the front desk treated us very well so thank you Bernadette!

Room Tip: The two bed two bath suites are a great bargain as they are spacious and have a full kitchen. Head...

Super comfy rooms, lots of space, friendly staff, better than any 1 room hotel- even five star accommodations. Me and my family knew the names of most of the staff in our 7 day stay there. Our newborn loved the smiley employee faces! Outstanding establishment!

We just spent the best weekend in Ottawa thanks to a great hotel. We have stayed in suites hotels before, but nothing as luxurious as this. Comfortable beds in a room with a TV. Enough sitting space in the living room, with a chair and a couch that made into a bed (and another TV). And a full kitchen, complete with a dishwasher! It was like coming home every time we walked in. Will we return. You bet. It was easy walking to Parliament Hill and all the attractions in nearby Byward Market. The movie theater is just down the street and there are many pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance. The attached little Quik Stop market is open 24 hours a day where you can buy snacks and drinks. We didn't see any beer there, but they had everything non-alcoholic. There is a restaurant and pub attached to the hotel as well as another restaurant next door that serves a great breakfast. Parking on the street is free on the weekends so we took advantage of that.Ottawa is a terrific city and Albert at Bay makes it more fun than ever.

Room Tip: They have all different selections of suites. If you don't see what you are looking for, call th...

Very clean, comfy beds and sofa bed. Great for bringing your own food and cooking meals with full size fridge. Nice friendly front desk staff that were helpful with directions. Very big living area with a balcony, so we even had room to bring all four bikes up to the room to store. They did offer us a bike storage area but once we saw how big the suite was, we decided to bring them to the room. Would definitely stay here again!

Just spent 3 nights here. Appears to have been an apartment building - apartments are now huge hotel suites. Ours had 2 bedrooms, each with 2 queen beds and a bathroom. Plus a full kitchen, dining room, and living room. We booked through Ottawa tourism web site and got the third night free! Staff was amazing - awesome smiles and would have done anything to make sure we were happy. Others complained about the parking garage - not sure where they parked - this garage is the nicest urban underground lot we've parked in. Very bright, large spaces, and well marked. Headroom is a little lacking for those with huge SUV's and clamshell storage units on top - but I doubt their are any underground urban garages you'd fit in. This was the nicest garage we've parked in during our travels through Toronto (where I had to climb our the back hatch after parking), Quebec, Ottawa, and Montreal. While I gave it five stars, I will point out this is not the same caliber as a Hilton - with respect to decor, views of sights from top floor windows, staff waiting at every corner to take your bags and extend their hands for tips, etc.. BUT, the value for this size room beats a Hilton in my book.

Room Tip: Rooms on back side have view of ugly neighboring properties.

Fantastic suite with full kitchen, including dishes, a few pots, utensils, even a microwave and dishwasher. More cupboard space than I have at home! Very clean and spacious. Separate bedroom with comfortable beds and we noticed a "pillow menu" on the elevator which offered different options of firm/softness although we didn't investigate this further as the pillows were plentiful and comfy. Good sized open area with couch and chair leading onto the dining area and exit to the balcony. Found a patio table and 2 chairs in the closet to use on the balcony. Only glitch occurred when the maid entered on the second day and we were still just getting out of bed. This could have been avoided if we had put the card on the door which let's the staff know when the best time to clean your room would be and if you had any special requests. Service was excellent. Bernadette does seem to be the obvious face of this hotel and she was very helpful, friendly and fun. We did eat at the adjoining restaurant as it was raining our last evening there and we didn't want to walk too far. Food was quite good but the service was not. Not the hotels fault but maybe should be pointed out as it could reflect on them. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.
