After three visits to this hotel every one was associated with an uncomfortable stay. I am a platinum member and do a lot of travelling . This hotel is different from any other Marriott hotel I stayed at.
The front desk members are intimidating , unfriendly and makes every effort to make your reception uncomfortable
The hotel itself is great, so is the location but will avoid it in any future travel

Room Tip: It is a great location, nice hotel but with very poor front desk service at the the time of registration. This will be be my last time that I stay at this hotel

For every positive feature you could find a negative one: the corner room has plenty of window glass, but the windows are dirty, there is even a balcony on one side, but it is closed. Sound-proofing is not terrific, so you have to be on one of the higher floors to escape on omni-present street noise. Overall, the rooms are quite generous as for the area, but decoration designs feel dated, very much 70's like. Definitely a very average place.

We are sorry that your stay at the Ottawa Marriott was simply average.

I am disappointed to read your comment that the hotel is “old”. We have made significant improvements to the lobby, the guestrooms and meeting space the past year and have received wonderful feedback from our guests. We continue to update our product to improve the guest experience and we are delighted with the positive response that we are receiving about these upgrades.

I am sorry that these improvements did not inspire you and I welcome any feedback you may have. Simply reach out to me at stephane.pelletier@ottawamarriott.com

Sincerely,

Well run, large hotel. King room is spacious, with good table and lots of light for working, a sofa and two chairs. Two blocks from Parliament Hill and Supreme Court of Canada near the War Museum. Extensive hot buffet is approximately $20.00. Nice toiletries. Drugstore across the street. Long walk/short bus ride to the tourist/restaurant areas (Elgin Street and the Market), but good business hotel. Free Globe & Mail in the morning.

Room Tip: Lots of traffic on Queen Street side, but I had an 8th floor room on Queen Street side and it was perfectly quiet, good sleep.

Checking in and out was swift and efficient.
We had a large corner room on the 9th floor. The "lovely view" mentioned at check-in was of the construction project across the street through very dirty windows! The room was large and clean and the bed very comfortable. The hotel is old, so although the bathrooms are adequate, they are on the small size. Free in room WI-Fi did not work at all.

Important to know that the restaurant selection is rather limited near the hotel, and the By-Market area is 15-20 minutes walk away. Self parking is not the the faint of hearth, as it is very steep and narrow.
Starbuck is accessible through the building only until closing time 3:30PM.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are larger.

Thank you very much for your review concerning your experience at the Ottawa Marriott. I truly appreciate you taking the time to provide your impressions of our hotel and I hope that we can regain your confidence in the Ottawa Marriott. We appreciate your comments concerning our location to Parliament Hill and the oversize guestroom with the comfortable bed. It is gratifying to read that these amenities met your expectations.

We are however disappointed concerning the other observations shared. The view of the city is certainly a benefit and the current downtown development has obviously lessened the attraction. The exterior of the windows are cleaned frequently and it appears by your comments that this was not noticeable during your stay. There is a 24 hour support line to assist guests with connectivity assistance to gain access to the internet. Our lobby hosts are available to offer recommendations for the variety of restaurants available in our vicinity and the Starbucks store is open until 5:30PM on weekdays and 3:30PM on weekends.

I realize that this does not make up for the shortfalls you experienced and I simply wanted to provide you additional information concerning your stay. We pride ourselves on providing each guest with a Brilliant experience and it appears that we did not achieve this.

I welcome the opportunity to further discuss your impressions of our hotel. Should you be willing to grant me the opportunity to learn more, I invite you to contact me at stephane.pelletier@ottawamarriott.com at your convenience.

Sincerely,

Stephane Pelletier

We loved that hotel. The playroom was awsome, so was the swimming pool. The rooms were nice and clean! I strongly recommend it! It's a walking distance from the parlament and Ottawa's War museum. Close to Gatineau's park and The children's museum.

Thank you for your review regarding your stay at the Ottawa Marriott. You’re positive comment concerning the close proximity of the Ottawa Marriott to most of the museums and sites in Ottawa is particularly satisfying as our visitors do have so many touristic options available.

We are also grateful for the wonderful comments about our guestrooms, the kid’s activity rooms and our pool. We certainly believe that we offer great amenities for family getaways.

We are appreciative that you took the time to write about your experience at our hotel and we look forward to hosting you again in the near future.
