The intercontentinental breakfast is horrible. Not a lot of options. The room it is held in is too small and smells.
Our comforters had stains and had to request for it to be changed.
The bathroom is not deep cleaned. You can see old stains, from spilled drinks on the walls and door frames.

Awesome fresh waffles for our included breakfast, restaurant with a patio for our lunch, pleasant staff, clean lobby and room. Couldn't ask for more. Would definitely consider staying here again on another trip to Ottawa.

My son and I stayed here for two nights a few weeks ago while helping out a family member. The room was adequate for a good night's sleep. The breakfast was sparse with no fresh fruit or yogurt but better than nothing. During the second night my son used the washroom and then found that the door would not open. Fortunately we were sharing a room so I eventually awakened from hearing him rattling the doorknob. The door and frame were steel and so there was no way to work it open. He is claustrophobic and was on the verge of panic. I called the desk and the man on duty soon arrived and, after a trip to get tools, managed to open the door. We were warned not to close the door again or the same thing would happen. When we checked out the next morning, I requested that we not be charged because of the incident and the resulting trauma and lack of sleep. The desk clerk had to keep phoning someone with more authority until I was eventually offered a 20% discount. Further negotiating only resulted in a 50% reduction in charges for the night in question. The person on the phone even had the nerve to say the hotel could charge full rate if it wanted to because it had my credit card information so I should be happy with 50% off. I absolve the desk staff of any responsibility but feel that the public deserves to know that this hotel's senior management does not takes responsibility for its mistakes and does not value the customer. There is no guarantee of satisfaction at this hotel and so I recommend staying somewhere else.
