This was a lovely and elegant hotel. Checking in and out was a breeze. We really wanted to do the Sunday brunch but had other plans. The rooms were clean, however even though they were supposed to be soundproof, I could hear everything in the hallway really loudly. The bed was very comfy, I like my beds firm, with a soft topper. We stayed on the 10 floor and had a partial view of the golf course which was nice.
We went swimming in the indoor pool, everyone else headed to the outdoor pool but we found it a little too windy outside. The hottub was nice, but looked liked it needed a good cleaning. Service at the gym was very courteous.
We stayed one night on our way to the Thousand Islands and it was perfect.
With a car, you are close to many restaurants but nothing too fancy as you're really out in the suburbs. But a short 20 min ride takes you into downtown.
Parking and wireless internet is extra. But having found such a great deal on Expedia, we didn't mind.

The decor and service are very superior for a first class Hotel, but the overall experience from dining and 'value' experience is sadly lacking.... It is frankly overpriced for actual value delivered. Too many extra charges of what should be in the basic experience.

Food quality is excellent.... But portions small and over-dressed

The best part of the experience is overall service and attitude of staff.

A 'special occasions only' type of place...... Not a practical hotel experience.

Not only was the hotel in an ideal location for us, it was over the top in luxury accommodations. We stayed in a Jr Suite. The rooms were spacious, tastefully decorated and comfortable. The pools were perfect for the family...the kiddie pool was again over the top with a teeter-totter & small waterslide. The gym was very nicely stocked with cardio as well as weight lifting equipment. We were very pleased with our stay there & look forward to returning in the future!

We did enjoy our stay at this hotel -- 2 nights over the Canada Day weekend. The rooms are very comfortable with lots of space. We had a kingsize bed, and it was extremely comfortable. Our room had a small mini-fridge, and when I asked if I could move their items to make room for some of ours (water, fruit, yogurt, etc;) they said no problem, as long as we put it all back afterwards. Underground parking was an extra charge -- you would think that since this hotel is nowhere near downtown Ottawa that there would be no charge for parking!

The main negative for us was the location -- we were visiting family in Ottawa, so we were able to park at their apartment during the day...it's about a 20 minute drive to downtown Ottawa.

This hotel does back onto a golf course, and does have a nice pool area (inside and outside pools)...so I think it's more geared for a weekend getaway of R & R. Not the best choice if you want to visit Ottawa though.

Excellent experience - terrific service, great new rooms, amazing fitness faciility, delicious dining, and great indoor and outdoor pool. Lots of nice touches, from fresh fruit available, to something as small (but helpful) as pencils and pads by the phones.

Starbucks cafe for breakfast, and other great dining options for a sit down meal.

One note however - cleanliness, all around, was seriously lacking, and improvement in this area would make this place perfect. The hall carpets needed a good vacuum, the pool area was quite grungy - pool itself, floor tiles, shower area, etc (e.g. someone's used band-aid stayed on the tiles for the full three days of our stay), and the room could use a good dusting.

Hotel common areas are very nice. Rooms are very spacious, have comfortable beds and great views, but they are not 5 star quality. The inside of the rooms are no different than a nice Holiday Inn Express.

What would stop me from coming back, however, is the snobbish attitude of the staff and feel of the hotel. Front desk staff speaks to guests in a condescending way. Restaurant service is also snobbish, yet not great service. All the staff are completely dressed in black, which shows the pretentious feel to the hotel that they are trying to create. Unwelcoming.

Unless you are coming for a business function or intend to wear a suit each time you step into the common areas, don't bother visiting this hotel.

I go to this hotel every summer and I plan to come next summer to but I have few items that would love to see them taken care of so this hotel continues to be the best in Ottawa.

Bed was excellent and clean. Staffs were great but sometimes rushing out the service with no smile or care. Could be because they were busy as there were 2 weddings that night. Food was excellent. I went for the all-inclusive b together package. The restaurant still charged us another 15 dollars because we ordered one lobster dish which is no fully covered by the package. That is completely unknown to me when paid 317 for the one night package. The Perspective restaurant blinds had dusts on them that could be cleaned. The balcony had bugs in it and the table in the balcony was broken.

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us. Our B Together package you had booked includes a three course table d’hôte menu. Our Perspectives Restaurant menu is created in a flexible way, allowing our guests to build their own menu. Changes to the set menu may require a supplement charge. We look forward to welcoming you back to Brookstreet soon.
