“Really Good Coffee, Excellent Soup”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

Just discovered Bridgehead Coffeehouse. Lots of locations in Ottawa, but this is the one I found open and humming on a Saturday.

Coffee is really good. I'm a Starbucks fan, but if I lived in Ottawa, I'd consider switching. The fair trade coffee was tasty - tried both a dark and a mild and they were equally good.

The cream of mushroom soup was fantastic. Easily as good as Milestone's famous mushroom soup. Served with fresh bread, this was a meal on its own.

Really enjoyed this cafe - check it out if you're in Ottawa

“Great coffee AND treats!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 March 2014

This local chain serves the most reliable, delicious coffee in Ottawa. Lunches are really good too. All the coffees are fair-trade, organic and roasted in Ottawa. And there are REALLY good treats - especially the chocolate pecan squares!

“Great coffee, delicious food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 October 2013

I am a coffee fiend. This place was a great find close to the b&b where I stayed. I visited several times & very much enjoyed the service, atmosphere, and delicious coffee. They also have the best date squares I've ever had (sorry, mom).

“Forget Starbucks. Support local when it's this good!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 September 2013

Great spot to hang out, read the paper and enjoy a local coffee business. Bright, open, stylish, but not pretentious. And you never know what 'gossip' about The Hill you might over hear.

“unexpected discovery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2012

I didn't go to the one at Dalhouse Street. I went to the other one on 109 Bank Street. What made me go inside to order a coffee is the coffee smell when I passed by its door. That coffee store on Bank Street is not a tiny shop but its coffee smell is so dense that you can smell from the door. It's worth going inside to order a cup of cappuccino.

What's that like? a good cappuccino. forth milk and espresso mix well with each other. Taste is well above the standards of other coffee franchises. I saw latte art in other customers' coffee but not mine. Not sure if that's because I ordered take out or didn't provide enough tips.

one good thing for this store is it has water station available. After finishing your coffee, you can get some water to rinse your month or clear your float if you wish.

Worth to note that this Bridgehead has a Roastery opened on 130 Anderson Street (613-231-5488). You can watch how coffee are roasted and prepared. I didn't have chances to see last time in Ottawa. I will certainly go there next time.

Worth to note that this Bridgehead has its store at Spark Street right in the front of the Parliament. That location is used to be Tim Hortons. How can it take over that premier location is worth to know?
