We were two couples travelling together. We opted for King Loft (extra cost), our friends the Laurier. The Kings Loft is very spacious - big enough to be a flat, really. Nice and warm with a comfy bed. Entry was by a 'guillotine' door (you'll have to go to see what that is!). The Laurier is much smaller and lacks a window!
Breakfasts were very good and filling - but no choices, and no fruit or yoghurts on offer.
A nice place to stay in a quiet street, with friendly hosts. On-street parking is not available, but complimentary parking is only a couple of blocks away.

I was recently in Ottawa to drop my duaghter off at school and decided to stay at a B7B near my daughter's residence than stay in a downtown hotel. It was a good decision. Upon arrival, you are made to feel comfortable and secure. The B&B is located on a picturesque, quiet street with many older homes. The home is nicely decorated and very welcoming and very clean. With a brief tour of the house, I was also given a map of the city and told if there was anything I needed to call Kevan,(gave his personal number) day or night and he would help out.
I stayed in the Laurier room for 5 nights and had all the comforts of home. There was enough closet and dresser space for me to unpack, and plenty of shelving in the ensuite for the toilettries, shampoo and a hiar dryer were provided. The wifi connection is good, the bed was very comfortable and the ensuite is modern but with a bit of a tight squeeze. The floors do squeek, but that is part of the charm of any older home. Each room has a key, so you always feel secure, as you come and go.
The location was perfect. It is a 20 min. walk from Byward Market / Parliament, and 4 blocks from Strathcona Park. The park is great for running, walking or realxing and reading. The neighbourhood is also a great walk with plenty of old houses and buildings.
Breakfast was at 8:30 each morning and the food was excellent with wide variety and always fresh fruit and orange juice.
I know that when I am back in Ottawa to visit my daughter, I will be staying here again!

Enjoyed our stay at Benner's. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, as were the beds. The breakfast was delightful with the usual variety of fruits, eggs, etc. Well located close to the Byward Market and other Ottawa attractions.

Room Tip: The MacDonald Room is nicely located with balcony at the front of the house. However, the "pri...

During our round trip in Ontario, we stayed for two days in the Benner’s Bed & Breakfast to visit Ottawa. We loved the breakfast, a starter with fruit followed by more delicious food, prepared by the host. We also loved visiting Ottawa city, which is a small distance away from the B&B. After a busy day, we were able to relax in the lounge. And we slept well due to the king-size room with a lot of space and the lovely bedding. We had nice discussions with the host and the other guests at the Benner’s B&B. Really enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: The MacDonald room is really fantastic. Enough room and a nice bathroom with jacuzzi.

This was our first experience with a bed and breakfast stay and we were not disappointed. It is a beautiful character home within walking distance of a number of Ottawa's attractions. The Laurier room is small but kept very clean and suited our stay. The breakfasts were delicious and varied. We felt very welcome and enjoyed visiting over breakfast with travellers from overseas and Canada.

Room Tip: If you prefer having some natural light coming into your room, do not opt for the Laurier room.

My husband and I had an absolutely fantastic mini-vacation here and Benner's was one of the highlights of the weekend. The hosts are quite amicable but not intrusive;the service was just perfect. We loved the King-sized loft room with tons of room and lovely bedding. We felt truly welcome and enjoyed our entire stay there. It was very peaceful & relaxing.
The breakfast was great, just the right amount, lots of fruit and nicely presented with attention to our concerns; no sodium, no cream. Of all of our B & B visits, this is definitely one of the top ten for us and we have stayed at hundreds in our travels. Most impressive, the decor, the spaciousness, you will never find this at a hotel, and the price is amazing!
Our only wish would be to have coffee with a bit more "bam." Other than that we will definitely be back !!

Room Tip: The King-sized loft is amazing, great space and true value for the money. Note: If you are physicall...

We stayed in the Laurier room for a couple of nights. The room was neat and had all the basic necessities. It was not noisy and we slept well. The wifi connection was also good. John and his wife were very gracious hosts. John also helped us to get an emergency print out. The breakfast served was delicious. At the breakfast table they engaged us and the other people staying at their place in very interesting conversations. They have a small dog but it wasn't a problem at all as it was mostly kept away. The bnb is also very close to public transport.
