Downtown offers an alternative experience to your run of the mill B&Bs and I enjoyed the company of the owners and their dog.
The location is ideal for walking into the city centre and there are some lovely walks to parks and the canal area, as well as being located opposite the Museum of Nature. There is a lovely veggie cafe called Blossom near by which is worth a visit even if only for their Chocolate Brownies.
The house, I would suggest, is not suitable for people with mobility difficulties ( lots of stairs) nor ideal for people with young children. The rooms have no washroom facilities and you have a shared bathroom which can become a challenge if they have a number of guests in. There was no TV in my room and I don't think in other rooms either, nor facilities to make a drink in your room. However there is a water dispenser and tea/ coffee making facilities on the first floor. The breakfast selection is limited and I would suggest if you want anything that is off the menu you specifically ask and give them notice.
There is a lot of furniture in the house and each area has its own style! Due to the wooden flooring and use of rugs ( as opposed to fitted carpets) it can be a little noisy when people are moving about.
