Cafe Shafali / Shafali Bazzar is a small hole-in-the-wall resto in the Byward Market that serves food that I crave on an (almost) daily basis. I've never eaten anything aside from the Indian Chicken wrap (I love love love Indian food, so it's not a lack of interest that makes me stick to one dish). It's made with fresh naan bread baked on-site, the chicken is stripped from the bones of tandoori roasted chicken, and topped with a sweet marsala sauce. It's a very tasty concoction that, even though it may not be the most authentic thing ever, is worth every penny. Add to that an incredibly friendly staff (the husband and wife couple, who are also the owners, always start a conversation with me no matter what), and the Bollywood hits playing on the TV, make this an awesome casual spot. If you want a quick bite or something to-go on your way to seeing Parliament Hill, Major Hill Park or any other Ottawa tourist spots, this is your place.
