The Manx is on Elgin St. along with many other restaurants. This one doesn't disappoint. Although in a basement the place was full of customers who, after some discussions, were repeat clients. The service was attentive to the point of taking drink orders while we were standing in line. I ordered the beer pork chop which was perfectly cooked and very tender.

Went for dinner after hearing many of my friends recommend the place. Arrived around 6 PM; it was fairly dead (I was surprised since I heard lines were common). Tables are small and tight as it is a basement; it can get loud. It was nice and cool on a humid day. They have a nice selection of local microbrews. The food is good, but remains pub food none the less. I did appreciate vegan alternatives to many of the recipes. The server was very friendly and the line certainly grew by the time we left at 7:30. Many people around talking about literature and art; was a nice environment for that.

Recommended for brunch by friends we went and weren't disappointed. Beware, some web sites list incorrect hours so we arrived 1/2 hour before opening. Loved our eggs - mine so beautiful they were photo worthy with a taste to match. Loved the homemade preserves (ask for them). Only disappointment were the extremely dirty seats.

Went there many times!
The food are excellent with a good price!
Atmosphere are great, not too loud and decor is good. Service is good.
No TV and no loud music, so we can talk easily and people are not staring at a TV, so really good place to talk and spend time with friends!

the weekend brunch is to die for - but get there at ten sharp to avoid the line-up. Home made scones, big pots of tea and delish brunch specials make the menu unique and fantastic.
