We spent two nights in June 2014, enjoyed great restaurant and staff. Room was very confortable, clean and well furnished. Complimentary transfer to the theatres was appreciated, so we did not use our car at all during stay.

Room Tip: Book early during festival season

We stayed in one of the apartments just down the street from the Parlour. The place was super clean with small couch that pulls out into a single bed (made up ready to go), a leather comfy chair, ottoman, table and chairs, stove with oven, sink, full bathroom, closet with hangers, and a queen bed. The bed was bouncy and soft; not a lot of support. There were 4 pillows, duvet, iron and board, hair dryer and a small amount of shampoo, conditioner and lotion (the conditioner wasn't the greatest). There is coffee (also not super). Service was excellent.

We had trouble getting into the stairwell from the street and at one point, couldn't get in at all, but management treated us to drinks at the bar while they fixed it very promptly. A/C works well. Plenty of hot water. Quiet except for some kids at 4am but that was short lived. It was a bit pricey at $199 but it was all we could find. Parking is included but you park at the Parlour. We did not eat there - ate at Let Them Eat Cake for breakfast (okay - a bit cold) and the Raja for Indian food (yummy).

My husband and I stayed over in king suite room 304 and our biggest complaint was that the mattress was lumpy, slanted and too firm.

Restaurant was incredible. Really enjoyed our meals.

Bathroom has some sloppy caulking in the Jacuzzi tub.

No microwave in the room. Would have been handy.

Turn down service is included but we never received any even after speaking to the front desk at 8pm to say we would be out of the room for an hour and returned to find nothing done. Disappointing.

After reading many glowing reviews about this hotel, my husband and I booked one night after seeing a matinee (King Lear - highly recommend the play). We had booked a 'deluxe' room and wow - were we ever disappointed.
Pros: The room was clean and large. The bathroom clean and large.
Cons: The room was brown and so dreary - brown walls, brown carpets, no pictures, living plants (or fake) and a dark and depressing ambience. The lighting was poor and the overall feeling was dismal (get the idea?). We looked over the parking lot and the back of an abandonned building (charming). There was no make-up mirror or proper lighting in the bathroom - no drinking glass - we used a wine glass - for rinsing - just dreary. We could hear people above us and the AC was so loud and 'cycled' off and on - we unplugged it. We'd asked for a King Size bed and got two Queens.
We were going to eat breakfast in the dining room but again found the ambience cluttered, dark and dreary. The outdoor 'patio' overlooked the parking lot and a side street - yeck.
This is in my opinion a three star hotel at best trying to dress up as a five star - we had to drag our own bags (and pillows) in from across the street as there was no one to help. The receptionist was pleasant enough but nothing special. Would not stay here again nor recommend it.

Room Tip: Don't stay in Room 212

I stayed here in May 2014 to attend the Stratford Festival. Great location right in the historic district. Comfortable beds and clean room and a jet tub. Very friendly staff. The restaurant has great food but a tad pricey. If your looking for a more affordable meal. Features within walking distance has everyday good food at great prices. I would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed at this hotel before when it was a Best Western. Now it is part of the Vintage Inn group and would have to say that service has decreased dramatically . Having stayed at Vintage properties, this one REALLY needs to come up to their standard. We had to have our "key" reset three times. The Gastro Pub's service is deplorable. We had breakfast one morning, the server kept coming back to be reminded of our order and still got it wrong. Wrong tea, wrong breakfast items. At dinner we waited more than one hour to receive our entree's. The server was very apologetic, I guess the kitchen staff were having issues. The food, when it eventually arrived, was delicious but we had another wait for desert. Since we had tickets for a show we were worried we might not get there on time, fortunately we just made it. The Stratford Festival is so integrated with local restaurants, thus the restaurants need to get their act together and make sure food is served to coincide with show times. We have another two reservations at this inn, hopefully service will have improved !!

It's unfortunate you feel this way. I can assure you this is not the standard level of service for The Parlour Inn or Vintage Hotels. I will be meeting with departments involved to rectify the situation. Please contact me directly, so that we may discuss in futher detail.

Our room was very nice and spacious with 2 queens, a flat screen TV with many channels, and a jetted tub. The front desk was very friendly as well. We enjoyed the Keurig machine and liked that there was an empty fridge in the room. The bathroom had the usual toiletries as well as makeup remover wipes (nice touch!). We would definitely stay here again.
However, we would not recommend the restaurant. We went to have the Pavlova dessert (my favorite!) at 5:40. We didn't have a reservation so they said it would be 10-15 minutes, no problem! We were seated at about 6:20 (not the end of the world since we didn't call ahead) and placed our dinner order, pasta and fish and chips no drinks or apps, right away. After nearly an hour had passed without our server stopping by or getting refills on water, we flagged down our server and asked when our meal would be ready. She assured us it would be ready soon. We got our meal at about 7:25 and had to eat it quickly in order to make it to an 8:00 show on time. We asked for the check as she brought our meal, but she did not return to pick up the credit card (or still refill the water). We stopped a host and asked for some more water and asked him to please process our bill because we had to leave. Because the meal took so long, we didn't have time to order dessert which was the whole reason we went there. The food was okay but nothing remarkable. I'm sure it would have tasted better if we had been able to enjoy it instead of eating so quickly.
Bottom line: Stay at the hotel and skip the restaurant. Go to Rene's Bistro instead-much better!
