One of the nicest theatres to attend in this area. They seem to profile this theatre as the younger one to Stratford's main theatre. You can't miss taking in one of the performances here as everyone is to be enjoyed no doubt.

“Very effective and comfortable, lots of restaurants close by”
Reviewed 12 August 2012

This is a more traditional theater than the thrust stage at e Festival Theater. Just great for the one person shows we have seen there, in 2012 it is Christopher Plummer. Many good restaurants very close by to make planning easier.

“Box seating makes for great leg room”
Reviewed 6 August 2012

With the recent remodeling the Avon has definitely improved in appearance since I started going to the Festival many years ago. Very clean both inside and in the lobby area. Theatre Store is conveniently located off the lobby, but there's both more product and more space at the Festival Theatre Store. We splurged for box seats this year as my spouse often complains about the leg room (actually, the lack thereof) whilst in Stratford. The box seats have regular chairs that are not bolted down to the floor, so you can move them such that you can have as much leg room as desired. We saw Pirates, which was OK but not stellar - the Major General was, at best, a mere Captain with his singing of the patter song.

“First visit”

The Avon was a pleasure to attend. It was easy to locate with lots of parking nearby and close to shops. The seats were comfortable and roomy and had a good view.
