We have visited Stratford for many years, and have often seen plays at the Avon. Location is great for access to stores, restaurants, and the river. Stage is great for BIG plays, such as musicals, French farces, and the like. We particularly like to sit in the center balcony for musicals, as the sound is perfect and the sight lines are great. We have also been seated on the main floor, the last time for Christopher Plummer's musings which was off the charts great. The main floor was a different perspective which worked for that presentation. Only concern--knee room for tall people with long legs--can be a bit cramped. Avon Theatre is not alone with that issue, of course. Saw Othello this last summer, and the Avon was a perfect venue for that staging of the play!

A wonderful season at Stratford all round. We saw both Othello and Tommy in a single day at the Avon Theatre. They are so different and both were terrific productions. Othello gripped me in particular.

We saw Tommy at the Avon Theater - a great venue for the show.

From the attention getting start of the show to the end, you are in for one of the best productions any where in either Canada or the United States for 2013.

The music, the videos, the acting, the stunts, etc. all made for a very enjoyable theater outing. People from young to old enjoyed themselves.

On the way out also saw the small tile outside the theater with Justin Bieber's name on it.

As others have said, Tommy was simply outstanding.

Tommy was excellent. I am a WHO fan and am still humming the tunes from the show. If it runs somewhere else (I think itclosed in Stratford this week) make plans to see it. As per the previous comments ALL the seats have great sightlines. And the drink prices at intermission are decent. I appreciated that.

We just saw Tommy and it was one of the best productions we have ever seen in Stratford in all the years we have been going to the festival. The performances were great, the orchestra was amazing and did Pete Townsend's music proud.
The acoustics in this beautiful theatre are excellent and the location is close to restaurants and hotels. The seating is pretty good but if you are short and sit behind a tall person it will restrict your view.
