The Suite we had was a one bedroom with large comfortable bedroom, a nice living room, a good sized kitchen that was adequately equipped for our needs (breakfasts, making sandwiches and reheating meals that we brought) and the refrigerator kept our Prince Edward County wines cold. Parking was excellent which meant that we never had to fight our way to parking at the theatres since everything was within a half hour or less walk.
The apartment was clean, nicely decorated and quiet despite being close to downtown.

My husband and I stayed here for a mini-honeymoon a few days after our wedding and really enjoyed ourselves. Loretta was extremely accommodating on short notice, and we loved the privacy of having our own kitchen, bathroom, and living room. This place will be our first choice for anniversary getaways. :)

We have stayed at numerous places in Stratford over the years and we really liked this one. It's in an old converted row house in a quiet neighborhood with a mix of businesses and residences. We enjoyed the old architectural elements such as the high ceilings and iron radiators. The room was clean and very nicely decorated. Although it's a B&B, it's completely self-contained with a fully furnished kitchen. The fridge is stocked with pretty much everything you'll need for a continental breakfast, plus a fresh loaf of artisan bread is dropped off each day. This fits the bill if you're not in the mood for staying in a B&B with a common dining room. It's also good if you like being able to make a cup of tea or coffee or a snack whenever you want.

You won't find high-end towels or toiletries here, and if you have a choice of vehicles to drive, take the smaller one, as parking behind the building is a bit tight. The walk to the Festival Theatre is a bit far if you're wearing high heels or are otherwise not up to a good, healthy hike.

The proprieter, Loretta, is friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed the autonomy of this place, and were very pleased with the experience.

We visit Stratford four or five times each year, and we have stayed in many hotels and b and b's over the years -- St. Vincent Row is our favorite. Each of the ten suites is beautifully decorated; each includes a sitting area, a sleeping area (or two) and a small kitchen -- oh yes, and also a bathroom (or two). Your hosts, Terry and Loretta, stock the kitchen with coffee, cereal, juice, milk, fresh bread, jam, peanut butter and butter -- more than enough for a light breakfast. We like being on our own schedule rather than having breakfast offered only at a given hour. Also, it is fun to pick up fruit or cheese or muffins on our morning walk and bring them back to supplement the breakfast fare. The suites are well-located -- about a fifteen or twenty minute walk to the Festival Theatre, and five or ten minutes to downtown Stratford. St. Vincent Row is the perfect combination of privacy, charm and convenience, and Terry and Loretta will do whatever they can to make your stay a pleasant one. We have recommended this place to many many friends over the years, and everyone seems delighted with it.

  • Liked — Spacious accommodations, great location and flexibility
  • Disliked — We like everything. No downside.

Thanks to the assistance of a Stratford Festival staff member, we were able to get a room for one night at the St. Vincent Row, on very short notice. Loretta, one of the owners, was most welcoming and gracious. The building is from around 1890 and in a quiet neighborhood. Our room, #10, on the upper level was spacious, spotlessly clean, and tastefully furnished. We were completely delighted and would highly recommend the St. Vincent Row. A very welcome touch were the little loaves of fresh wheat-buttermilk-honey bread and a well-stocked mini-fridge (coffee, jams, butter, milk, cream). Walking distance to Avon Theatre.

  • Liked — gracious atmosphere, comfort, service
  • Disliked — (liked everything)
  • Tips/Secrets — highly recommended!

If you are a short person, do not go here, The beds are old poster beds that are hard to get into. The shower is very bad ( The water pressure and not adjustable,) The good points are..... Fresh bread or fruit are stocked each day along with orange juice coffee and buter, also the parking is very limited if most of the people have SUVs.

My husband and I stayed in Suite #7&8 with another couple we were traveling with, and it was ideal. The layout was perfect - each couple had our own bedroom and bathroom, and both were very nice. The common space in the middle was a bit cramped for four adults, but no more so than your average hotel room, and it was much more comfortable, with a TV, couch and easy chairs. The kitchenette was fully stocked with a toaster, coffeemaker and utensils, and everything we needed for simple breakfasts - milk, juice and coffee, cereal and bread.

If you love the B&B experience - making chit-chat with the owner, socializing a lot with other guests - this may not be the place for you. But if you're like us and just want to be left alone and not forced to answer myriad questions about yourself, this place is ideal. The owner greeted us when we arrived and showed us around, but after that, she explained how to reach her if we needed anything, then left us alone, and we never saw another guest while we were there. It really was like having our own apartment for the weekend.

Stratford can be an expensive place to stay during high season, and this suite provided great value for the money. This suite, including breakfast, cost us $125/couple - about the same as most of the hotels and B&Bs in the area, and much more roomy and comfortable than most of those rooms. Next time we're going to be in Stratford with friends, this will be the first place I check for availability.
