We recently spent a couple of days in Stratford enjoying plays and restaurants. Our holiday was made even more pleasurable by our stay at the Avery House. The house is bright, relaxing and tastefully decorated. Amanda and John were most welcoming hosts, with information readily at hand on the current plays and where to eat. Rstaurant reservations were made on our behalf and their suggestions were fantastic. Breakfasts were great and waking up to the smell of freshly baked bread or muffins was a real treat. We were able to easily walk to everyplace we wanted to go as the Avery House is conveniently located for a stay in Stratford. We highly recommend Avery House and we will return!

T&S...

We are so happy that you were pleased with your stay at Avery House, and thanks for the great review! We really enjoyed chatting with you both, discussing the plays, the town, and your other pursuits on the water with oars in hand. Look forward to seeing you again in the fall, as schedules permit. No rhubarb muffins at that time of year, but we're sure we can come up with something equally yummy for you both. Good luck in the competition!!

Under new ownership, Amanda and John made our weekend retreat an amazing experience. It was our first time going to the Stratford Festival and definitely won't be our last. The house is gorgeous, beds are extremely comfortable and the hospitality is outstanding! We stayed two nights in the Bali suite and were pampered in luxury. We had originally booked the Poppy room but because they had availability our hosts upgraded us to the suite for our anniversary at no extra charge. Each morning we were awoken to the smell of fresh baked goods and pipping hot coffee and tea. John makes the best homemade granola I've ever tasted! Everything theatre related is easily within walking distance as well as a variety of shopping and eateries. Amanda booked all our restaurant reservations and provided us with everything we needed to know about Stratford. We were so pleased with our decision to stay at the Avery House and look forward to it being a yearly getaway retreat.

Room Tip: If it is in your budget, upgrade to one of the suites. It is so worth the extra space and private balcony.

D&K...

Thank you for being our first guests as the new owners of Avery House, and thanks for the positive feedback! It was a pleasure hosting you both on your special anniversary weekend. We are both so happy that you got to enjoy a little time on your own, and that restaurant recommendations worked out. Pleased that you liked the granola, and that the recipe will keep you going until you can return again! Enjoy the summer.

My husband and I spent out honeymoon at the Avery House, and we wouldn't trade those memories for anything. The house is beautifully appointed and decorated, and spotless. The breakfasts are great, and there's always granola on hand if you're not up to the richer options. When Judy and Sue found out we were just married, they upgraded us to their most glamorous suite and lent us a lovely vase for my bouquet. When I came down with the flu, they appeared with toast and ginger ale. They treat their guests like family.

My wife and I have been going to the Stratford Festival for many years with a group of friends, and we are so glad to have found Avery House. Beautiful, comfortable bedrooms; fabulous breakfasts that set you up for the day; easy walks to all the theaters and restaurants. Plus Judy & Sue are the consummate hosts.

A group of us take over the 5 bedrooms in the main house. This allows us to sit up late at night talking about the shows we saw, drinking wine and eating cheese we've stashed in the house fridge, and not feel at all guilty about the noise. Sue's breakfasts are a multi course event (yogurt and fruit, and then various hot things like frittata, croissants, scrambled eggs, etc.). Judy runs the logistics wonderfully; always responsive to reservations and keeping that wifi going!
