This hotel was dirty, dusty and has severe electrical problems. We moved hotels after we found syringes in the room. We were booked as a group and in one of the rooms the electricity shorted out and left half the hotel in darkness. It was in the winter and this room had no heat for the night. There was mould in the bathroom and the balcony was unsafe.

This dump was picked for our hockey team by the Big Nickel Tournament. The place is and should be listed as a dive. Rooms stunk, beds were uncomfortable. Wireless Internet access was on accessible from lobby. If the kids (14 year old) actually don't like the place, you know it's got to be bad.

To cap off this fun filled weekend, we got out of the place after 1 nights stay. Checked the visa bill 2 weeks later to find that I was charged for 3 nights.

Considered yourself warned.

As we have problems with hockey teams in the past. The organizer of the tournament, was told to let the team know that they were not staying at a 5 star hotel. The issue should of been taken up with the organizer who booked rooms for the tournament. This team as with all teams in the tournament, were told. you book for 3 nights you pay for 3 nights. A contract was given to them and signed. Their stay was in 2007 and the hotel since has under gone extensive renovations and we maintain a clean family oriented business.

My husband and I heard the Belmont had a room with a heart shaped tub, fireplace and waterfall in it so we decided to give the little place a chance.....when we got to our $179/night room we had no waterfall-no big deal we still had the hot tub and fireplace so we settled for that. When we filled the hot tub with water there was a disgusting residue on top layer of the water, so we had to drain it and clean it ourselves. The bed was clean, old but comfortable and the bedding itself wasn't in too bad of shape. The bathroom door had blood drops down the back of it which looked like they had been there a while, the t.v remote worked when it wanted to........overall we made the best of our stay becuase it was only one night. We left this morning and came straight home and when we started unloading our vehicle we realzed we had left our $1000 camera on the fireplace....no big deal we'll just call and go pick it up on Monday-WRONG!!!! When we called(all 4 times in 15 minutes) they claimed there was no camera there...I actually had to file a theft report with the police because they wouldnt give it back!! Anyways as it stands we will not be recommending the Belmont to anyone and will retell this story to all who will listen!! Happy Anniversary to us ehh!

In the 8yrs I have been working at the Belmont, I can honestly say that an incident of theif has only happened once and the housekeeper was fired immediately and the item was recovered and returned. Back in 2007 the Belmont was under new management and was in the process of extensive renovations. All the rooms have since been renovated and the rooms are kept to a high standard. As far as the missing camera, if a report was given to the police we at the Belmont were not contacted. When a customer calls to let us know they left something in the room, management goes to the room to look for the item, I saw no camera in the room and assumed they left the camera elsewhere.

This is in response to the other comments made. My new husband & I stayed at the Belmont for 2 days on our mini-honeymoon before we left for the real one. The exterior of the INN is not the most desireable. The secret to the Inn's success is renting one of the suites with the Jacuzzi tub and fireplace. They have 4 to choose from 2 have heart shaped tubs. They have a wonderfull staff and it was a very memorable occassion. I am not sure of the standard rooms. Everything in our room worked just fine & it was very clean. Next time we are going to stay in the suite with the bar & the jacuzzi in an ajoining room.
