Pretty basic, but it seemed more genuine than the cookie cutter Holiday Inns/Hampton Inns, etc. No iron or board in the room, but they were happy to bring one up. Nice people on staff. Quiet at night. Bed & quilts were very good

I stay here a few times a year for a couple of nights at a time, for me the location is perfect for business. You can tell the hotel has been around a while as it's getting a little worn in areas but on the whole it's fairly comfortable, rooms are clean and staff are friendly. I've tried the restaurant a couple of times and it works fine and you also have the option of a few other restaurants very close by. Hotel has only two floors with no elevator, so if you have luggage unless you have a ground floor room you are lugging this up a flight of stairs. Continental breakfast is include, although it is not a big selection it is fine for someone like me who is not a huge breakfast person, they offer tea, coffee, juice, toast, bagels, cereal, fresh fruit ect, as stated in other posts the lobby area where breakfast is served lacks seating so unless your one of the lucky ones you most probably will end up taking your breakfast back to your room. I found the rooms okay but the bathrooms were a lot smaller than expected and no counter tops.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground level room, you can also access these directly from the parking lot.

Some areas of this hotel are very seedy, some are very nice. The lobby area is small and very dark. Breakfast is adequate but there is no where to eat it. Very few chairs in the lobby area. The washroom on the lobby level is awful! Part of the adjacent night club, it looks like the back stage set of Gypsy. The beds and rooms are lovely but the pillows are awful.
The odor of smoke permeates the halls, but not in the rooms.

Room Tip: Lower rooms open onto a parking area. There is no elevator to the second floor.

Stayed here for one night during a long roadtrip so my expectations were few. I had a couple of concerns from reviews here, but literally nowhere else (within reason) to stay the night!

First of all, the hotel is definitely old and showing it's age. Although the lobby maintains it's charm, the hotel hallways are 40 year old, dizzying patterned carpet and smell like stale smoke. As for the rooms, again, the carpets are old (clean, but showing wear and tear) and very dated. The bathrooms will probably upset most people who want 'modern hotel bathroom' as they are small, water stains and peeling wallpaper. Don't get me wrong, they are clean and totally adequate but definitely not a spa experience! Beds were basic, no concerns but again, nothing special either.

The pros include a continental breakfast (good coffee, toast, yogurt, cereal etc) and a fitness room and pool (be warned, the fitness area is in the same spot as the pool and it's roughly 25C and 100% humiditiy down there!) and the customer service was great. We didn't try the restaurant

Biggest concern is there is a night club LITERALLY attached to the lobby. We stayed on a tues night but on the weekend I guarantee there is noise for anyone staying on that side of the hotel.

At the end of the day, for $130/nt you can get newer, better rooms.

Shower head had a brown ring around it, tiles where dirty; wallpaper was peeling at the edges, bubbling up at the seams and was ripped all over the room. I found leftover 'personal items' in the night stand that should have really been cleaned out. The wood trim (doors/windows) looked really old and was in serious need of a paint job. I was told that I could not use the fitness centre (at 8:15am) nor could I have a 30 minute late checkout (i.e., 11:30am) because they had a wedding reception later that day.

Room Tip: Worth about 1/3 what I paid!
