Planta is on the east side of Bay just across the street from the TTC subway entrance. Though the restaurant looks small from outside, it is quite sizeable inside. The decor is contemporary and very attractive. The food is imaginative and stylish: most of us were not vegans but all were pleased by our choices. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. We had a small baby with us and there was plenty of room to walk her around when she made a fuss without disturbing other diners. Why not five stars? The noise level inside is very high thanks to hard floors and taped music, so there wasn't the opportunity for good conversation and not even our crying baby could be heard! And the mark up on bottled wine is very high. This is not a cheap place, but you can keep the bill down to $50 per person if you confine yourself to shared appetisers, an entree, one glass of wine, and a shared dessert.
