Recently went on the chariots of fire niagara tour and had a great day. Along with being very reasonably priced, Mel was an excellent guide with great knowledge of historical events in his commentary. Loved his dry sense of humor! The tour was very scheduled but still offered some flexibility so we could fit all the sites into 1 day. If you get the opportunity...go on this tour!

The tour was great for its value. It didn't feel like time was going by too slow. A great variety of things to see and do. Enough time at each stop for sightseeing and/or shopping. Our driver / tour guide Mel was very informative and kept up entertained. Would highly recommend to friends.

We decided to do this Niagara tour based on the good reviews on Trip Advisor and they were not wrong. Our guide Mel picked us up at Dundas Square in Toronto for a full day tour of the Niagara area. On the way through Toronto Mel talked about the places we passed and even had knowledge of some of the places we passed until our first stop at the Skylon Tower.
As part of the price, a ride up the Skylon or the Maid of the Mist was included in the tour price and if you did both it was an extra $12 Canadian. Considering the price of the Maid of the Mist is $19.75 Canadian each, we thought an extra $12 each was a bargain. Both the Skylon and the MOTM are worth it especially if you have travelled a long way.
After seeing these attractions and a stroll through Niagara we were then driven with a few sight-seeing stops including the Niagara Clock to Niagara-On-The-Lake. This is a lovely little town with time for a bite to eat and a look through the Town. You can either walk from the coach park or if you are lazy like us, you can use the free shuttle bus, who drivers are very helpful.
To end the tour, we were taken to a local winery (Dan Akroyds Wine is made and sold there) for some 'Ice Wine' tasting which was nice. We were given a few types of wine to try, but there was no pressure what-so-ever to purchase. We decided to buy a couple of bottles (good value) and wished we bought more as the Ice Wine in Toronto Airport is not cheap.
To finish the tour we were presented with a small token box of maple syrup cookies from Mel which was a nice gesture we thought. They have gone down very well!
Mel's knowledge of the Niagara area is second to none and he has a very dry sense of humour which makes for an interesting trip. If you are in Toronto and you don't fancy driving to Niagara, then taking the Chariots Of Fire tour with Mel is a trip worth every penny.
