“Great Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014

It was a very clean, well-maintained house w. a host,Tahir, always helpful. I loved the location in Cabbagetown--public transportaion available and many attractions within walking distance. Comfy is a homey place with lots of charm and reasonably priced.

I stayed at Comfy Guest House had a great experience. after a while, the place felt like home. The accommodations and room were great. The location was good for going downtown either by walking or public transport. We used the kitchen for cooking and it became a home to us. During our stay we met many other guests who were always a pleasure to see and Tahir was an amicable host. In Toronto Comfy is always my first choice.

Room Tip: Rooms with private bathroom are very nice and worth the extra cost.

This is a very nice and cute guest house what i can recommend. Tahir is a very nice and kind householder and he can help you a lot around the tour in Toronto. The price is very fair in Toronto. The rooms, bath and kitchen are clean and well maintained. The environment is quite and convenient as well.

I had a wonderful stay at Comfy Guest House. The guest house was charming, very clean and close to the center. Besides, the prices are very reasonable. Tahir, the owner was also very helpful. Hence, I do recommend this hotel for your trip in Toronto.

Excellent location only 10 minutes walk from downtown, and very near both tram and general stores/restaurants. Both room and communal kitchen/bathroom well-appointed and clean, and owner extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating.

We were picked up by Mr Tahir from the airport, he is such a nice man! Before hand he had been in contact to see if we would like to book on any trips while we were there. We booked on the Niagara Falls trip...and good thing we booked in advance with him because the bus was full! We were shown to our room, given our security code, a map, wifi password and shown around the property. Great check in! Our room was fine, but we were downstairs next to the bathroom, but were told we would only be sharing with one other room. Unfortunately that wasn't really the case, as one night we had to wait to brush our teeth as everyone from upstairs was coming downstairs to have a shower. My husband ended up having to use the bathroom upstairs when it was eventually free. Also, there is a sign in the bathroom asking people not to shower between 11pm and 6am, unfortunately the couple we were sharing the bathroom with decided that every morning they would shower at 5.30am! And because we were right next to the bathroom it was incredibly loud, especially the morning they left the extract fan on. Even if they had waited till 6am, I would still say this is too early! But I think there are people living there who work in the area...thats the only reason I can think for needing to shower so early in the morning. TV worked well with lots of channels. Wifi was really good too! Security wasn't a problem because each guest gets a code for the front door, as well as an individual key for their bedroom. The walls were thin, and unfortunately we didn't really get a good nights sleep as everyone was up very early. The room above we could hear people talking, their phone vibrating and them tapping on their computer keyboard. Otherwise everything else was great. We didn't use the kitchen apart from borrow a bottle opener. The area is ok, lots of nice places to eat. In good walking distance to everything. We walked into town to do the art gallery and CN tower and walked back ok...it was a little bit of a walk, but ok if you are use to walking. Laundry round the corner which was convenient. On check out Mr.Tahir gave me a gift which was very sweet and dropped us back at the airport. I would recommend this place, as every accommodation we have used in Canada has thin walls, I think you just have to accept this, just be aware of it before you arrive that way you can't feel put out. Place for the price and the location, you can't really fault it! The bathroom was fine, shower was really nice. My husband felt that it wasn't particularly very clean, although I couldn't really see what he was getting at. Just remember this isn't a hotel, it's a guesthouse and for that, I have no problems.

Plus:
- Rooms are very nice, clean, well designed and supported with free wi-fi and cable TV
- The owner, Mr. Tahir, is a real gentlemen. He provided me with all the information that I needed to know including nearby restaurants, tourists attractions, directions to university etc.
- They booked trips (Niagara, City tour) on behalf of me. It was so amaze as I stayed only for 3 nights and had only limited time for these trips.

Minus:
Nothing to mention
