Owner description: Opened in 1914, the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) showcases art, culture, and nature from around the globe and across the ages. One of North America's most renowned cultural institutions, Canada's largest museum is home to a world-class collection of more than six million objects and specimens, featured in 40 gallery and exhibition spaces. As the country’s preeminent field research institute and an international leader in new and original findings in biodiversity, palaeontology, earth sciences, the visual arts, material culture and archaeology, the ROM plays a vital role in advancing our global understanding of the artistic, cultural and natural world. The Renaissance ROM expansion project (2007) merged the iconic architectural heritage of the original building with the Studio Daniel Libeskind-designed Michael Lee-Chin Crystal. A distinctive new symbol of Toronto for the 21st century, the Crystal marked the beginning of a new era for the ROM as the country's premier cultural and social destination.

This is a must see Museum and offers many exhibits and items to marvel over! The exhibit halls are many and it’s reach us broad throughout Canada. You can spend days here and not see it all. Great for families to enjoy together or for small groups or singles. Well worth the time.

Be sure to allow time to visit the Royal Ontario Museum, has to be one of the best in the world! Collections cover the history of Canada, furniture and porcelain of the periods as well as armory used by the different armies that colonized the land.

I have been to the ROM many times. It seems to be getting more in the way of watching television on displays than actually interacting with real life. Half the exhibits have discovery or history channel docs playing while you look at 1 or 2 artefacts. Nothing like the amazing experience it was 10 years ago.

This museum is one of the must-see places when you travel to Toronto. It has great exhibits that showcase things from all over the world. The most interesting in my opinion was the Asian and Canadian exhibit. If you are planning on visiting more than just this museum in Toronto it is recommended buying Toronto CityPass with which you can save quite a bit of money and in some places you can also skip the line if the line is too long
