The Intercontinental Yorkville is really conveniently located with the closest subway stop being St. George. It's right across from the ROM and also high end shopping on Bloor Street. About a 30min walk to the heart of 'downtown' Toronto but we found it nice to walk through the different areas, although taxis are easy to find in front of the hotel as well.
The hotel itself is getting a little bit dated and could probably use a facelift but is still very comfortable, the rooms were a nice size as were the bathrooms with a bathtub plus separate shower. The walls are a bit thin and we could sometimes hear conversations in the hallway, although this did not disturb us very much.
The hotel staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful.
Lots of restaurants in the area as well as a Shoppers Drug Mart downstairs and a Tim Hortons around the corner for something quick on the go. We did have room service and it was prompt and the food was very good. There is a Keurig in the room but if you're having tea, it seems to come out with a bit of a coffee taste as I'm sure it gets used primarily for the coffee.
To note: there is no mini bar fridge in the room. Was not a big deal for us, but I could see some people wanting or needing one to store other items.More
