Great service, helpful before our stay, answering any questions and putting themselves out to give you the best advice on trips and some honest recommendations on tours.
Great location, small but charming but this gave them the opportunity for great customer service.

Aside from a run down roadside motel I stayed in once in Sault Ste. Marie, this was the worst hotel I have ever been in. I read all the reviews before booking and probably focused on the positive ones, but looking over them again today, the negatives are much closer to the truth. Dirty lobby, uncaring staff. No parking and no attempt to help find any nearby. We had no hot water and very, very low water pressure. A call to the front desk, and we were informed that it takes about 15 minutes to warm up. No kidding. So while eventually it did warm up, the water pressure was little more than a trickle. I don't care how central or cheap it is, I need a hotel to be clean and have hot water. Best to find another place.

We stayed here one night after arriving by train from New York. The location is perfect for those coming into Union Station as it's an easy walk to the hotel. It's a good stay for the dollar. We met the manager, a charming man, and he obviously knows the hospitality industry and has the welfare of his guests at heart. Our rear room was the smallest but the quietest, and we were very pleased. The desk staff stored our luggage for the day so we could sightsee before leaving on 'The Canadian' that night. We would definitely stay here again. Not having a car, we found walking in neighborhood was wonderful. The restaurant in the lobby, "Over Easy," was a very good breakfast place and I would recommend it to all the guests for a good start to the day.

We did a 3 night stopover in Toronto and booked the Victoria for its location mainly but also the price seemed reasonable. Location was perfect as its within 5 minutes walk of all the attractions, shops & restuarants that you want to see during a stopover. Its also easy to pick up a car and drive to Niagara as we did.

Hotel lobby is small and a little dated but the staff were very helpful and happy to recommend good restuarants for us. Room we had was much bigger than expected and clean and comfortable.

Generally the hotel is small but has a lot of character due to its age (2nd oldest in Toronto apparently). We didn't use the restuarant but there's a good deli opposite and plenty of good restuarants close by.

If your in Toronto for a few days, I'd recommend this hotel.

My wife chose this place based on its location and price based on what was available for our trip. I have to admit you can't beat the location, if you care about hockey they way we do and it was our main purpose for the trip than this place is perfect for you.

I would say that it had some drawbacks, the outside of the building looked nice however the inside lobby and general check in area just seemed old. The elevator seemed old but these are minor details. It did however set the mood for the rest of the stay, you could tell it was an old apartment building converted into a hotel. The room we had on the 3rd floor was TINY, walked right into the bed and desk. The bathroom was a decent size and probably the saving grace. It was the only thing modernized in the hotel room.

The place had the feel of the national lampoons European vacation to it and the first thing I said was I felt like it was a hotel the Griswalds stayed at.

BIG negative to me was the fact that we had to use the public parking around the block, which wouldn't have been bad except that there were a lot of beggars and it wasn't a good idea to show luggage or a touristy look coming from the garage.

It got the job done, the bed was confortable and it had a TV, it was perfect for a rest when you wanted to just stop for a bit but then go right back to what you were doing around town. There seemed to be a great night life around the hotel.

It grew on me after a night or so and I would stay there again but just don't expect a cushy modernized place it was cozy..

The hotel was under construction while we stayed here. It was no frills & a small room. The only complaint was the shower curtain had a smell to it. We got that changed and everything else at the hotel was clean. The location was within walking distance to most of the city sites. For those cost of the room per night and it cleanliness, it is definitely worth considering if you are visiting Toronto, especially if are on a smaller budget. One thing to keep in mind is that parking is at the closest public parking facility, a few blocks away. The hotel has no parking.

We stayed at Hotel Victoria for one night while attending an event at the Air Canada Centre. While the lobby of the hotel is a bit shabby, (especially by the elevator) the room was very clean and well worth the money. The bathroom was very modern and well put together. There were plenty of towels and they provided 3 of everything (shampoos, lotions etc) which I thought was a nice touch since there were three of us staying in the room. We were in the deluxe suite for $125.00/night with two queen beds. Our room faced on to Yonge St. My daughter found it a bit noisy but I felt that that is to be expected when staying in downtown Toronto. The beds were fairly comfortable and there were extra blankets in the dresser drawer. The desk attendant was very helpful (morning and evening) I used the gym down the street. I have a membership at Exclusively Womens in Waterloo which is affiliated with Goodlife. They accepted my membership card no problem . The gym was excellent, showers, lockers ,lots of towels, razors, mouthwash, etc all the extras. We parked in the first parking lot we came to when we drove down The Espanade. It was less than three blocks from the hotel. It cost $15.00 to park there from 7:00 pm to 5:00 pm the next day which is quite reasonable for downtown Toronto. We had breakfast in Over Easy downstairs. Again good prices, and good service. No complaints. There are lots of good restaurants within one block of the hotel. All in all good value for the location and convenience to public transit and the Gardiner alone. We will definetly go back.
