“Great location!”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

Excellent location if you are looking for night life and entertainment all within walking distance. The hotel is modern looking and bustling. The rooms are simply decorated with the basic amenities; somewhat compact but economical. Will go back!

I was surprised to find my room fairly dirty. Burn marks on the counter, carpet with debris in the corners and the bathroom sink was incredibly slow running. Not what I expected from a property with this star rating. The staff however were very friendly and professional.

Good Evening Jason M,

Thank you so much for reviewing your recent stay! While it's great to hear the staff were agreeable, it's terribly disappointing to see that you found your room in such poor condition. I'm forwarding your comments to hotel management in an effort to see these addressed before they affect any other guests. I'm so sorry to hear they soured your stay with us.

Safe travels,

Fairly well maintained property with most inclusions one expects at a Hyatt property. Front desk staff efficient on check-in and friendly and accommodating when I needed to extend my reservation. Good area, with restaurants aplenty in a very short stroll and close to most CBD targets.

Good location for restaurants and shopping. We stayed for 7 nights. We had requested a 'view room' but were offered the Business level for the one night with the understanding that we would be moved when a view room was available. The 'business package came with free internet and free calls within Canada and breakfast for one, none of which we needed. The room was shabby. The bathroom door was a slider which made a noise like gunfire when it was operated. We checked in at 10.p.m. and went for a late dinner. Returning to the room we realized that the drapes didn't fully close. We called housekeeping who in turn called maintenance. To close the 3 ft gap they had to use bulldog clips to cinch the drapes as best they could. Not ideal. The buffet breakfast was okay not wonderful. We were moved the next day only after we insisted. We were told that once we had been assigned the business package it was not reversable, not what we had been told at check in. The bathroom door problem was one that they were familiar with. How could they have not known that the drapes in the room did not fit. The view room was so much better both in decoration and function and the rest of our stay was pleasant. We really appreciated the on site Starbucks. I doubt that we will stay there again because there are so many hotels to choose from and this hotel has issues that need to be taken care of in order to provide a good guest experience.

Room Tip: Unless you need the business package forgo it and take a view room.

Rooftop access closed, pool closed, in-hotel bar closed. In-hotel breakfast is about $30 USD w/tip, which is a bit much. Stay here if you have no other options. It's a bed, thats it. Might as well look into a hostel downtown because there's no aminities worth the cost here.

Good Evening Addamtron,

I'm so sorry to hear so many expected amenities were unavailable during your stay. I absolutely understand how frustrating it can be when expectations aren't met, especially when travelling. Could you kindly private message me your stay details so I may follow up with the appropriate management concerning your issues?

Warm regards,

This hotel is located in the heart of downtown Toronto which makes it a convenient base from which to explore the city and take in a show or two. Unfortunately the property does not live up to what one would expect from the Hyatt brand. The rooms are small with a somewhat dated decor and many of the common areas are in need of attention. There is no valet parking so if you are arriving by car be prepared to haul your luggage up from the public parking garage or hand it over to the doorman while you self-park your vehicle. On the upside, the staff is friendly and accommodating and the food is better than most hotel fare.

This hotel is great for couples who like to stroll around the city and take in all it has to offer. The lobby of this hotel is beautiful, and has a Starbucks which I always love. The rooms are very nice, but quite small. I really did love the modern decor and design, especially the round shape of the room. A huge bonus for us was that the hotel staff were super accommodating letting us check in at 11 a.m., as we were coming from a different hotel in the city, thanks guys! :) Also got a great deal on Hotwire, very well worth the money. Only thing missing is a pool/hot tub area.

Room Tip: Ask for a high level floor to get a good view of the city.
