Reviewed 7 October 2009

I like this Hotel because it has all the structure I needed to relax and also to work. Breakfast is not bad, but it cannot be compared to the ones I have in Barzil! :-)

We booked this after reading the Tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. The location is excellent, we walked almost everywhere and were just 2 minutes from Yonge Street (the main street running from the lake up through the city).

The rooms were superb (I've lived in smaller flats) and the staff were very helpful.

I can't recommend this hotel highly enough, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Just got back from Toronto, stayed at the Cambridge Suites for two nights after the Westin Harbour Castle cancelled our Hotwire reservation at the last minute and Hotwire rebooked us into the Cambridge. Couldn't be happier with how it worked out.

We were in a corner room on the 8th floor, newly renovated. Room was great, bed was firm and made for a great sleep. Considering the hotel was fully booked and very busy it was quiet, never heard any noise from the hallway or other rooms.

Really great location for walking to the Eaton Center (5 minutes) and all over the downtown area. We'll stay here again for sure and have already recommended it to others who are planning Toronto trips.

It was the little things that made this stay an excellent one, salt and pepper shakers, the apples in the foyer and the extra glasses, including wine glasses in the room. The mini bar had a child lock on it - excellent and the fitness, whirlpool and sauna on the top level was open until 11pm on a Sunday night - unlike most hotels which tend to close earlier on Sundays. There were 2 t.v.s in the suite so that in the rare times we were inside we didn't have to watch the same program and the staff were great. My only negative comment is the map handed out at reception had a photo of the St Lawrence market a few blocks north west of it's actual location, so we got a little lost looking for it however I don't believe the hotel prints the maps so it's not a hotel fault. Parking and internet were available for a small fee.

Dear CaptainSchmoo (great username!),

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with other tripadvisor users. I was pleased to learn that our focus on the little things does not go unnoticed. Our team is very proud of our hotel and all it has to offer. I appreciate your information regarding the map; we will be sure to follow-up with the producer and our team to ensure accuracy for future guests. (It would be a shame to miss the opportunity to visit one of North America's finest markets.)

I am normally very critical of hotels and usually look for the best deal under US $100. I had to attend a conference and the Cambridge Suites was not one of the eight conference hotels but it cost a bit less than the rest and sounded like it had much more to offer. It is the best of all possible worlds. It is close to all of the major hotels but has none of their drawbacks (overpriced hotel stores and ammenities, dozens of halls and towers, impersonal feel, etc.). The standard rooms have a bedroom and living room and each has a 37 inch TV so two people could easily have different living spaces or you could entertain guests. It has a refrigerator separate from the minibar and a microwave and sink as well as dishes and utensils. There is a large desk with a comfortable swivel desk chair, a nice sofa, two arm chairs. At the top floor there is a small fitness center with a hot tub that overlooks the entire city. But one of the best deals is that they will let you use a luxury fitness center that is two blocks away for FREE. The Adelaide Club would cost $25 a day if you were not a guest. The service is also excellent- they gave me a toaster, made up the room exactly when I wanted it done every day I was there, and gave me a special price for three days of high speed internet access. The food at their restaurant is also very good and they offer ten dollars off your first dinner entree. The hotel is also within two blocks of a drop off point for the Airport Express, a block from a 7-11, and one block from the Eaton Shopping Center. There is nothing not to like about this hotel. I highly recommend it. It is particularly good if you have a conference at a major conference hotel and want your money to go to the quality of the room and service instead of to the conference facilities overhead expenses. First rate hotel.
