“Worth the discount price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 September 2011

If I had to pay for the full price I wouldn't, but the discount of about $100/night was worth it. Very good location, spacious room even though it's quite old. Nice lobby with wifi (have to pay if you want it in your room too). Great complimentary Illy coffee and tea early in the morning. They have room service but they prices were very high after you add all the delivery fees. We were hungry at 6am so it was lucky we decided to come outside to find a Tim Horton's and Starbucks very close by. We paid about $6 for our breakfast (the Illy coffee was free at the lobby) as opposed to $35 for the room service breakfast. We like to splurge too but maybe for lunch or dinner not for breakfast when we couldn't eat that much anyway. We didn't do valet parking but used their suggested $6/24hrs garage only a block away. It was fine but annoying when you wanna check into the hotel which would take like 10 minutes at the most and the staff out front wouldn't even let you leave the car there. He wanted to save the space for all his valet customers. I can understand that but at the same time they should provide the space for the people who are checking in and out to unload or reload their luggage too.

Le Meridien was a wonderful stay. Located in the Financial District, it was close to plenty of entertainment, shops, restaurants, and accessible by public transport.

They only have valet parking so you just pull up to the front of the hotel and they take it from there. Just look for the blue awning

I love staying here, but I adore history. I dislike Toronto after living there for years but if I have to go there to show people around I stay here. It's best quality is that it is cheap - don't pay more than $129 per night. The rooms are huge. It doesn't have bedbugs. It's being converted into condos so there is a bit of demoralization in the air, but that doesn't detract from the gorgeous lobby or the super helpful staff. Plus, for tourists, the hotel is at the foot Yonge street and at the King St TTC stop. Walk directly south of the hotel for Pravda Vodka bar and some fun snotty Toronto restaurants. Or walk directly north for trashy tourist food. Win-win.

Nice hotel with expected upscale feel and service. There are no ice machines on any floor and no robes in the room but they will deliver it upon request. The bathrooms are bit tight and could be more brightly lit. The location is great.

This is an older hotel, but remain a solid business hotel. Nothing special (good or bad) but a place that I return to again and again because the service is good, rooms are clean and location convenient.

I wish the hotel had wireless in guest rooms, but can only assume that it will be coming soon as this is a pretty standard requirement for business hotels today.

My husband and I stayed here for our 2nd wedding anniversary and just LOVED this hotel. From the grand entrance lobby to the most professional and well spoken desk clerk ( I wish I had gotten his name- because he was simply amazing), to a complimentary upgrade to a king suite because it was our anniversary, to the most comfortable bed in the world, to the excellent room service that brought us two forks at 2am with a smile and to a shower that actually has pressure in a hotel. FINALLY, a hotle that truely cares about their guests!!! We loved every minute of our stay and will definitely be staying here again. Too bad I can't say the same about our choice restaraunt "Sultan's Tent"- read my review and you will understand why we will never go there again.
