Very pleased with our stay. clean , well appointed rooms, nice fitness centre. Staff were very friendly, I recommend the valet parking over trying to park car downtown Toronto. Great location, short walk to fine restaurants + market. Will stay again.

I was very happy with our stay at the King Edward. I was impressed from the start with the booking of the hotel. I needed 3 rooms and I was easily assured that our rooms would be located together. This is often not guaranteed at other hotels. The front desk was efficient. Champagne flutes were delivered to our room when requested with beautiful chocolate covered strawberries. Very nice touch. The waiter in the Consort Bar was very kind and professional. The hotel is in a great location. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Our stay was most pleasant at this downtown Toronto hotel. The rooms are larger than most hotels, and furnished very comfortably. They are 'old style' elegant, with modern upgrades. The hotel staff are very courteous and knowledgeable about city, restaurants etc.

We stayed at the King Eddy for a wedding 2 weeks ago. The interior of the hotel is lovely. Yes they are upgrading many rooms so some parts of the hotel are "tired" looking but don't let this put you off. The location of this hotel more than makes up for any flaws.
Our room was one of the newly refurbished ones. It was clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet. The price was in line with all the other downtown hotels of this caliber. One caveat: Parking here is very dear. The hotel was asking for $49.00 for one night. The parking lot next door was asking $42.00. This really makes a reasonably priced room quite pricy. Good luck with this issue. We couldn't resolve it cheaply. Also welcome to downtown Toronto.
For a snack we went to the Beer Bistro which is just across the street towards Yonge street. Great food and superb selection of craft beers. Try a mixed sampling of beers. Sit at the big windows and people watch.
Overall the King Edward is a very nice hotel and you can't ask for a better location from which to explore the city. Give it a try.

Room Tip: There is construction going on in the vicinity of the hotel. If you are a business traveller and nee...

Walking into the lobby of this beautiful old hotel is impressive, no doubt about it. Front desk staff were thorough and attentive to my needs. Door staff friendly and helpful. Then things started to fall off a but. Hallway carpet and rooms (at least on the 8'th floor where my room was) are looking a little tired and in real need of upgrading. Desk in room looked like it had been hard used. Room also quite dark. Bathroom was long and VERY narrow by the sink could hardly stand comfortably to shave (Room 821). On the plus side, rio was very large and the work chair functioned well. wifi was very strong but $14 per night unless you signed up for their loyalty program....what's THAT all about? All in all a lovely old girl who needs some real freshening up!

Room Tip: Stay away from rooms ending in "21". As in 821. Bathroom is terrible.

I really enjoyed my stay. The location was excellent, and the staff was very friendly. The hotel had a decent fitness center. It was a walking distance from subway, restaurants, shops, shopping mall, and oldest market in Toronto. It was great

We gave two nights stay at the King Edward as a gift for our daughter and son-in-law and were delighted to hear how much they enjoyed the hotel and how well they were treated by the staff. On arrival they were given an upgrade to an absolutely beautiful suite and then found in their room a delicious presentation of a strawberries and chocolate plate wishing them a happy anniversary. On both mornings they ate breakfast in the hotel and came home with new recipes for the delicious meals they enjoyed. The concierge and the other staff were wonderful at making recommendations of where to visit, interesting places to eat and how to get there. After listening to our daughter I don't think that we could have found a better gift.
