“Great location, great facilities”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2014

If you are in town for business, the hotel is well located, and you can walk to most downtown locations. Rooms are well-appointed, large, clean and the staff is helpful. Nice exercise facility for a hotel. If you are an Omni member, wifi is free.

Hadn't stayed at the King Edward for 6 years and found it still to be a very nice hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was nice, clean and very comfortable. Good nights sleep. Breakfast was the only meal we had and it was good. Nice fresh fruit, muffin and yogurt. I thought the Valet parking at $45 per day was a little over the top and I was surprised that the WiFi was also available at a cost. All in all we had a good stay and we were very pleased that our request for a late check out was granted immediately.

Spent one evening at the Omni King Edward, in a suite, and the experience was fantastic. The hotel has ‘old world’ charm, and is convenient relative to it’s location (although access to unloading of luggage can be compromised due to road traffic in the front of the hotel). We were greeted by the Concierge upon parking in front of the building, and were offered help with our overnight bags – not necessary, so Valet took care of the vehicle (which is very convenient, but on the expensive side). Once into the lobby, we were greeted enthusiastically by the staff at the front desk, and were quickly provided all the information necessary for both what the hotel had to offer, and the cards to our room.

The room we had booked, was a one bedroom suite, and it was perfect. An overabundance of room, well appointed, and very comfortable. Given that this hotel is located right downtown, there was an anticipation of some noise from outside, but this was not the case….there was no noticeable noise from either outside of the hotel, nor from within…..which led to a great nights rest on a very comfortable king sized bed.

While we only spent the night, we did have the chance to try out the bar (after an excursion around downtown), and, again, were treated to a level of service that you would expect to find in a hotel of this quality. It truly was a great experience – one that I would not hesitate to repeat when the opportunity presents itself.

A brunch & wedding spot masquerading as a luxury hotel. Guests are second rate citizens; try getting the attention of the concierge or for that matter, the bartender. ( For the record, back of the house staff - maintenance and housekeeping - are far friendlier and more attentive.) Best thing to be said about this hotel is the location. For the price, if you are going to spend this much, pick a different hotel.

Dear Kiku2009,

Thank you for your review. I sincerely regret your experience and I am very sorry to hear about your perception of the service rendered during your stay. Guest satisfaction is our priority and it is a matter of concern when we let our guests down. I will follow up with the appropriate members of my team to address any service gaps and hope that we are given another opportunity to be service to you once again and provide you with an experience more typical of the Omni King Edward. It is at least nice to know that you found the back of the house staff friendly and more attentive. Thank you for choosing to stay with us.

First things first... the ambience and the noise level of this hotel, considering it was almost at the heart of a downtown, was excellent!

The room we stayed was clean, had fresh linens. The king bed was comfortable but the sofa cum bed/roll over bed was not as much as we had expected. But thats probably the case in almost every other hotel too.

We decided to try out the breakfast buffet, which was not part of our package, and were quite happy with the hot and cold choices.

Overall, we loved the ambience of this hotel, which was simple yet a bit majestic and was definitely the price we paid!

Exceptional service, great fitness center equipment. My sister had an issue with neighbors making noise one evening. She believes it took no less than 5 minutes to have the issue addressed and her room location moved. Kudos for such a response! Other minor issues were also addressed professionally and quickly. Every staff member was courteous. The hotel was quiet and clean.

We stayed for 5 days at "The King Eddy" as the locals call it. This historic hotel has underwent (almost complete) a major renovation. The rooms are modern, sleek and very spacious.
We stayed in a crown suite, and it was more like a small apartment at 800 sq feet.
I recommend taking your own beer, wine, spirits with you as having a 9oz pour of wine will cost you $27 delivered to your room. We also didn't request a refrigerator so we had several ice buckets going keeping our items cool.
The concierge, Vanessa, was extremely helpful as were the doorman Oscar and Scott. All other employees we came into contact with her very friendly, smiling faces and willing to help. We couldn't have had any better service at any other hotel.
My husband and I enjoyed the spa with massages. I highly recommend taking time for this as well.
We really enjoyed our stay here and the late night food we ordered was very good.
We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: A crown suite and on the end of a hall. We heard no noise.....ever!
