“Quiet, sophisticated hotel in great location.”
Reviewed 13 June 2011

I stayed at this property with my 2 children for a weekend. One thing I really liked is that it is small and quiet, WITHOUT mobs of tourists slothing around in the lobby. I seemed to be the only one with children. My kids are super polite and well-behaved and calm, and the staff was so impressed with them at check-in, that they sent up complimentary cookies and milk on a silver tray for bedtime. Such a charming touch!
The guest rep at the desk was terrific and gave us an upgraded room which was very large and had a nice view. The room was very nice, but the decor seemed a little dated, aesthetically speaking. Brass light fixtures in the bathroom seemed like a mismatch given the modern aesthetic of the lobby and common areas. But, everything was in perfect condition and clean as a whistle.
When we were there, there was a US diplomate staying in the hotel, and an American professional baseball team, with an insane amount of security everywhere. The staff made sure we weren't bothered by it and that we could get in and out easily. We never actually saw anyone special, only their security details!
The location is PRIME. ROM across the street, and lovely restaurants and shops steps away. There is even a European grocery a block away with amazing fresh fruit, coffee, baked goods and all kinds of gourmet treats. Starbucks is also a block away. There are 2 subway stops within a block.
Loved this hotel and will return.

We took our girlfriend there for her 40th birthday for a girls' getaway for the weekend. We had planned spa treatments for all of us at the Stillwater Spa within this hotel for Friday night. This Spa is the most professional and sophisticated spa in town and probably in Ontario. I believe it is the rated in the top 5 in Canada. I loved it so much, I took my husband there for our one year anniversary for a couples massage.

The hotel itself was beautiful, the rooms are a bit dated but it is an old property. The service was wonderful, we ordered room service for our dinner and had lots of wine in our room, so we can chat and laugh without bothering other patrons.

The only down side to this hotel is that parking is very costly even for their guests, it's $40 per night.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Huge room with huge fully equipped bathroom. Located very near Yorkville, the high end shopping district, just across the street. 2 underground train stations within 5 minute walk. Niagara Falls in about 40 minute drive away. Free internet with wi-fi. Business centre provide free printing self-service.
The only slack is: there's no complimentary coffee/tea in the room. It's served by coffee machine at the lobby only during morning. Bottled water is provided with request.

I stayed here for two nights on business and was very impressed, especially because they avoid all the annoying habits of other 5* hotels I have stayed in. In-room internet connection - $30 per day? No - free. Posting a couple of letters back to the UK - no problem sir; we'll take care of those - no charge. Food and drinks in the bar (on the roof with great views) and breakfast ($24) are expensive, but not so eye-wateringly expensive that you feel aggrieved, even when it's not your own money. The food was also surprisingly wholesome for North America - breakfast with asparagus, not cheese! The room was very comfortable. In short, I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is ideally located in Yorkville, nice area of the city. The service is excellent, the staff members are pleasant and helpful. A variety of nice breakfasts are proposed at the restaurant. If you stay in this hotel it worth going to the bar on 18th floor to look at the city view, probably one of the best.

My partner & I have just spent 4 nights here over a long weekend.
The welcome on arrival is great and we loved the decor and old style glamour of the hotel.
Our room was in the old part of the hotel with spectacular views of the city. It was a little shabby though with broken curtain track & broken lamp with exposed wires! I found this surprising for a hotel of this standard. There were 2 small double beds in our room and when we asked for a room with a larger bed we were told we wouldn't have the view so we opted for this room.
The bathroom was spacious and beds comfy enough the only downfall was the weak hairdryer which took an hour to blow-dry your hair! Mine wouldn't work withthe UK wattage difference!
The spa is nicely situated however it would have been a lot better if facilities could have been enjoyed together not segregated for males and females!
The gym was adequate with good facilities and even cold refrigerated towels to cool off after your workout!
The rooftop bar is out of this world! Amazing cocktails and Joe the cocktail bar tender who has worked there 51 years since the hotel opened was a pleasure to speak with and made the most delicious martinis!
The breakfast was AMAZING! Such delicious choices and polite staff and simply could not fault it as were every one of the staff during out stay from the valet parking staff to the concierge.
Even the small gripes about the room didn't take away the wonderful experience of this beautiful, classy and so distinguished hotel in the heart of the best part of Toronto.
Visit and enjoy every minute.... We did! ;-)))

We completely enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The service was impeccable, our room was exceptionally clean. The food was delicious, very satisfied with breakfast. The staff were always willing to go the extra mile. The location of the hotel was also very convenient.

I really cannot find a fault with this hotel. It's highly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms in the South Tower are more modern
