“Loved it here - Great room, Great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. Each room had a tv, and there was a living room area with a kitchenette, sofa, tv, and a desk. The room was very clean and the bed was VERY comfortable. Even the pillows were comfortable - which is very hard to find in a hotel. We travel a great deal and have never had large comfortable pillows like the ones at the Grand. The air conditioner kept the room super-cool - just the way we like it. There are 2 hot tubs and lounge chairs on the roof top area which had a great view of the city.
We drove to Niagra for the day which was only about an hour away so it was the perfect day trip.
The location of the hotel was great for us. It was 2 doors down from a Tim Hortons (our new favorite place) and only a 10 minute walk to the center of downtown which is full of shopping, street entertainers, restaurants, and more. At night, it seemed a little seedy walking back to the hotel, but we didn't have any problems. We thought the breakfast buffet had a nice selection, but it closed at 10am which was a bit early for us. We would have been happier if it was open until at least 11am.

The hotel is walking distance to transit and most major tourist sights. The staff is incredibly helpful with transit and restaurant recommendations. The rooms are incredible, as are the pool, roof deck and roof-top jacuzzis. The view from the roof is fabulous - you don't have to go to the CN Tower...just stay here and enjoy the view from the jacuzzi! Breakfast was included with our room, and it was amazing!

I stayed three nights at this hotel and I felt right at home. I was concerned about the location, however I think this is the best luxury location closes to the Eaton Centre. There is a train station at Dundas and Yonge. So, if you want to venture taking the bus from the airport and transfer to Kipsling (sp) metro station the stop closes to the hotel will take you straight to the Eaton Centre. From there you can either walk 3 blocks to Jarvis or catch a quick cab. Why would one want to do this method of transportation? For experience of course! Now, the hotel breakfast buffet was very good (4 stars), but the real experience was enjoying the breakfast on the comfortable, balcony. The scenery is beautiful! I also enjoyed the roof too hot tub my entire trip (3 nights), the inside pool is as beautiful as the picture on the website. My suggestion is if you really want a little adult relaxation, go to th rooftop hot tub instead of the indoor pool. If I could " ding" the hotel on one thing it would be the wi-if in my room. As long as I was in the lobby, and main areas, the wi-if was pretty good, but not the case in my room. Still, I'm giving the hotel a great rating for easy access, to local transportation, close to most of the hip places, friendly staff, and pretty good restaurant just in case you would like a great night in with a special someone!!

Room Tip: Higher floors for sure

We stayed only 1 night before we flew back to Vancouver to fly home to Brisbane. The room was not ready, but we were able to put the car in the garage and sit and have some drinks in the bar. The bar staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The rooms were lovely, with a small lounge area with a tv, a large bar fridge and a very large microwave and small sink and the bed was a king size, but very, very hard as were all 4 pillows, all very hard. not a comfortable sleep. The bathroom was a good size.

The hotel was central to the city and to the shops etc.

The bar/restaurant served good food and the staff were very helpful with what things were in the names on the menu.

I have stayed here twice in 2014. Once in March and now in July. Both times the service was great. The rooms have a lot of space with a fridge, microwave, love seat/couch, two televisions and free wi-fi. There is also access to the hot tub on the roof, a salt water pool and a fitness area. The room also has a/c. The breakfast is one of the better breakfast options I have had at a hotel. The food from the restaurant is also very well done as I ordered room service on a couple of occassions. The location being close to Yonge St is great, although the area is not the best to wander around although I never had any real issues. I ran down Queen St to the Don Valley pathway and didn't have the best feeling running through. It is probably fine, but I probably wouldn't walk around the area much at night. There can be some noise from the hallways, but it wasn't enough to keep me up at night. In July, I stayed for TTF and there were no issues with keeping my tri bike in the room which was a great relief. If I am in Toronto again for a race or visit, I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Maybe try and get a room far from the elevator because then there will be less hallway noise late at...

Just stayed at the Grand Hotel in Toronto for 9 days and had a brilliant time using this hotel as our base.

The location is just a 10 minute walk to the centre of the downtown area so is very close to everything but not in the middle of it all so the hotel is very relaxed.

Having just spent 5 days in a very small and quiet place we were a little worried what we were going to find when we arrived at the hotel. We should not have worried as once we started to do the checkin and got into the room all was great. It was a very nice big room that had a small area with a tv and Sofa that then led onto the bedroom that had a desk and another TV.

The hotel decor was really very nice and the room very clean and well maintained.

The gym was excellent, as I have said in a few reviews before, you just never know what the Gym will be like when you book the hotels but this one was great. Very large area that has lots of cardio and free weights as well which meant I could do lots of the fitness routines I like to do. This of course helped me to be able to enjoy the various restaurants in the area even more!

To be honest, everything in the hotel was perfect!

The staff really were very helpful and obviously very proud of the city they live in so always keen to ask what we were going to be doing and suggesting different things.

If you do go for a leisure trip then 100% recommend you doing the City Pass to get access to 5 of the top attractions and also doing the double decker sight seeing three day hop on - hop off option.

Would highly recommend staying at the hotel and we would not hesitate to stagy again if we ever go back to Toronto!
