“Great place to see design”
Reviewed 30 October 2012

I went to this place a few years ago and enjoyed looking around. If you are into design then you are going to enjoy this place.

“Really fun shows”
Reviewed 17 August 2012

When we werethere, there was an exhibit of tutus made by a variety of artisans, not menat to be worn, but really fun and beautiful. Also, an exhibit on the design history of the Nutcracker ballet- we enjoyed very much. The Spanish Design, not so much- pretty minimal. Overall, recommended.

“Tutu and P2”
Reviewed 9 August 2012

We went to the Tutu Project and the 60 year National Ballet of Canada retrospective at the Design Exchange, and then on to the Pablo Picasso exhibit at the AGO. Both were phenomenal.

“Limited appeal”
Reviewed 25 March 2012

The Exchange is quite small and the content will likely appeal more to people in the industry then to visitors in general. Definitely don't take children or teenagers to the Exchange. The Design Exchange is housed in the former Toronto Stock Exchange so the building itself is quite attractive. Although not officially open, we snuck into the original stock trading floor to look around. The wall designs on the old trading floor are quite amazing!

“Good if you are into Design and Architecture!”
Reviewed 12 November 2006

This was a great chance to see something out of the ordinary. As a graphic designer, I love to get inspired by the creativity of others. We went during the "Milano Made in Design" exhibit and it was really interesting. The room was transformed into separate areas that were very hands-on. They had cool chairs, diamond rings that moved (articulated), bikes, toy helicopters, and household items. Everything was very "designed" -- I don't know how else to put it.

Now for the not so good -- $5 for something that really took maybe 1 to 2 hours to tour. Seems a bit steep, but perhaps I am too used to the national museums in DC. If they had had more exhibits of that quality, I could have kept looking for much longer.
