I spent part of yesterday at the Design Exchange checking out the Christian Louboutin exhibit. The building the DE is in is architecturally and historically interesting. It is in the financial district and my experience of going through customs and asking for directions to walk there showed that it's an underrated and not well known place in Toronto. It is an easy walk from most popular hotels in Toronto (the DE is close to Easton Centre). The entry price is $22, and they accept credit cards or cash.
The exhibit is mainly shoes with some handbags, photos, and video mixed in. The history of CL's life and work was very interesting to read. It is written on the walls, along with quotes, and on story boards in one room of the exhibit. There's also a more mature (read adult) section exploring fetishes that CL and David Lynch collaborated on.
The exhibit ends of September 15, 2013 so if you love shoes and fashion and want to check it out, go soon. The Design Exchange also has a coffee shop and a little gift and art supply store on site.
