I have always enjoyed the beaches - lots of bars, restaurants and shopping. Plus nice to walk of the boardwalk

“The Beach in downtown Toronto”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2014

"The Beaches" now officially called "The Beach" is an area in the Eastern part of Toronto. The Queen streetcar takes you right there. If you get off at "Kew Gardens" you'll find yourself right in the center of antique stores, restaurants (great brunches) and of course the board walk. The board walk allows you to live the seasons on Lake Ontario - parts frozen in winter time and full of water birds in spring, summer and autumn. The houses around the board walk are mainly former cottages although some of them have been transformed into modern and rather large houses. In spite of that the mood of the area is village like and cozy. A wonderful outing for city dwellers.

“I love it..”

I live not far from the beaches and they are so great to have a nice long relaxing walk in the evening and good for a jog in the sunset along the board walk..

“Beautiful and Luxurious, Yet Also Natural and Simple”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 March 2014

The Beaches is a very beautiful, special, unique location found in the east end of Toronto along the lake front. It is as if it is a little community or village separate and all on its own from the larger city. The area has sandy beaches for relaxing and suntanning, a boardwalk for strolling, parks and playgrounds for children and adults alike to play, participate in sports or merely ponder life, excellent restaurants, bars and boutiques and so much more. It is a favourite tourist location and there is something for everyone! A great place to visit! Very highly recommended!

“Better in the summer!”

A nice little stroll, even when the weather's not great. A good selection of pubs off the beach, too - although they're not very lively until the warmer months.
