“Undergoing some construction at the moment”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

Lots of construction going on outside of Union station on Front Street. Front street is still the best place to get a taxi though. It can get very very busy near the bus station part of Union Station, as well as entering and exiting the subway.

“Avoid this area - if you can”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

I’ve had the recent misfortune to use this facility a few times. The Union Station refurb/renovation plus the Front St. construction is a monster. It is very hard to find your way around, even for someone like me who has used GO transit and subways since 1989. It would be much better if there were a few well-placed useful signs – for example, the best way to get to the Air Canada Centre. From the Main Hall for the rails and the Main GO Concourse, there is no obvious signage to guide tourists and others to the Air Canada Centre thru the building. And why are Lakeshore trains on the far (south) platforms? The Lakeshore route this is the main GO line and yet these trains are at the back of the station? The Lakeshore trains should be at the closest, easiest platforms, on the North side. Also, GO should place real human guides at key locations to help people thru this awful mess. And I'm not a newbie - I took the GO for 5 years and have lived here since 89. I pity tourists and business visitors trying to navigate thru Union Station. We all understand that this is a major project and that there will be major disruptions, but the situation could be greatly improved, in my view, with some good signage and guides at strategic locations.

“Toronto Union Station”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

The station itself is big and clean. The procedures for booking are good. The staff are helpful.
However, the area around the station is horrible. It is not easy to find a parking close to the station if you are not familiar with Toronto downtown. Lots of constructions around the area. They started more than a year ago, and did not finish. If you take a bus and get off to walk to the station, that is really miserable. There should be an easy pavement to allow people with luggage to walk peacefully. I had to drag my suitcases in the street ( with lots of construction) and had to go down the stairs to reach the station.
Taking the train is better than the bus if you get a good price for your ticket. However, the trains are old and relatively slow.

“wish I got to see more”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

I came in to union Station from Amtrak , it is a beautiful station inside, the interior and architecture. I just wish it wasn't under construction on the outside so I can see the majestic old station, but with an old building you do need to renovate and up keep. I didn't see much I was passing through but from a couple post cards I purchased, beautiful building.
