“Lots of places to take photos.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 December 2012

During the summer often see studios recording scenes for movies. Once I drove and felt unusualy strange, and after realised, that all street signs are renamed, and street is full of yellow cabs, like in New York... Great place for tourists to wander and spend time.

“Worked in the area for 8 years”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 December 2012

I have been working in the Bay / King / University area for 8 years, prior to this, I went to the University of Toronto and I live downtown. So I am quite familiar with downtown Toronto. Great restaurants in this area and good shopping in the PATH.

“Good to stroll through.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 October 2012

The Financial District’s imposing modernistic architecture is certainly eye catching. I like to think of it as a Toronto’s “urban mountain range”. Its worth walking through here at least once to see the buildings up close. You may also discover quite a bit of interesting public artwork here and there. Beyond that... not much. No night life or much of anything else on the weekends. Nice to look at but that about it.

“Only if you enjoy the city...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2012

There's a limitation on things to do in Toronto, but if you're into the city landscape and the go-go-go business lifestyle, you'll enjoy experiencing Toronto's Financial District.

This is more a walk through than anything - skyscraper buildings, businessmen and women fast-pace walking through the streets... This is Toronto. You can enter the buildings themselves and see the modern architecture used inside. Lots of glass walls and arches. They are beautiful buildings.

The one downfall to Toronto (Business District or anywhere else really) is that we don't maintain our original building architecture - generally places are always modernized. You may get a historical feel from the outside, but insides are beautiful but generally static.

The majority of the buildings are tallest in Toronto. First Canadian Place I think ranks first after the CN tower. Wiki should have these answers. If you're lucky, you may also find art exhibits on the main floor of some buildings. Especially if you visit in early October when Toronto has "Nuit Blanche", you'll experience some of the most bizarre artwork displayed all around the business district and other areas of Downtown Toronto.

If you're looking for business-type eats, there are classier restaurants on the main floor of many of the business buildings. Brookfield Place has a restaurant "Ki" which is modern Japanese and highly recommended by friends who have gone there. Definitely some of the more expensive places to reside here, but they're definitely an experience.

Also, we have an underground with shops and cafes running underneath the financial district buildings and connecting to other areas of the city - the PATH is always fun to venture through.

If you love city, you'll definitely love Toronto!

“An iconic part of Toronto. State of the art architecture.”

Iconic part of Toronto. State of the art architecture. All of Canada's most important banks are located here. Particularly impressed with the not so new Royal Bank of Canada golden building.
