“a great getaway”
Reviewed 5 December 2013

Just in front of Toronto is the Island of Toronto. Only a few minutes by ferry and miles away from the city. Jujst walk around or if you're Lucky with the weather, relax on the beach. Just spend an afternoon here and watch the sunset over the city

“Not to be missed!”
Reviewed 2 December 2013

Toronto Island Park is the highlight of a visit to Toronto. It is an oasis just a short ferry ride from the hustle and bustle of the city. As you take the ferry you get a great view of the city skyline. You can walk or bike from Ward's Island to Hanlon's point (or vice versa)

Ward's Island: a community of interesting houses and the Rectory Cafe which has great food an a lovely lakeside patio

Centre Island: you can rent bikes, there is a small amusement park for little kids. It's the busiest but least interesting of the islands.

Hanlon's point: famous for its natural environment (including a nudist beach).

“Beautiful, even in October when most things are closed”
Reviewed 29 November 2013

Best seen on a good weather day. Started at Hanlon's Point and walked to Ward Island, taking in the Centre island sights along the way. Fantastoc day out for the whole family or for those just looking for a nice walk. Excellent eating facilities on the islands.

“BREAK FROM THE CITY”
Reviewed 27 November 2013

Have been to the island dozens of times as a child and now have taken my own children there when they were younger.
The amusement park is really just for young children but adults can enjoy bike riding and walking the extensive trails in the park
