“Good hotel and location.”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

We spent three nights at this hotel and our room was large, very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and the service was excellent. Close to the subway and shopping, nice area. Would stay here again.

You know what you get which is decent quality, great customer service and a decent room layout. Checking in highly efficient .

They do need to look at replacing some the mattresses - getting a bit saggy and lumpy.

Good place to stay and nicer area .

My experience of Marriott hotels is that there are generally no surprises. This hotel lives up to that expectation. The room was standard. The bed was comfortable. The staff were courteous. No surprises except for my interaction with the Chief Concierge Angeney (Angie) Singh. She is a delightful person. She is very knowledgeable, willing to share that knowledge and at your service to help make your stay in Toronto a good one. The hotel seemed to be on" high service alert" because of the World Pride Week.

Room Tip: My room was at the back of the hotel and on the 5th floor so no view to speak of. Doesn't matte...

Stayed recently for business. Hotel is dated and well used. Room was adequate , nothing fancy . Bed was comfortable and desk well appointed for business use. Service was also adequate. Nothing special. Everything was ok , nothing special. It is in a great location - easy access to subway , shopping etc. Has self parking as well as valet.
Somewhat disappointing when compared with other Marriotts. When travelling to Toronto again for business will try a different property.

A perfectly ordinary hotel. Very good location. OK comfort. It is clean. The restaurant is mediocre for breakfast. As far as I could see it has no noteworthy pluses and no serious minuses. Just a totally average decent hotel

Spent three pleasant nights at this perfectly located hotel. Typical Marriott in many ways with some twists. Lobby is small and not impressive. Restaurant for breakfast was overpriced and limited in choices with standard omelette station, bacon sausage, potatoes, muffins, croissants, toast, yogurt, fruit and danish.

Room was large and well equipped if a bit outdated. No couch but two large sitting chairs plus ergonomic desk chair. No minibar but refrigerator in room useful for storing medication the beverages and snacks we picked up nearby.

The hotel was at full occupancy when we checked in and we were given a room on the first floor (in reality the 6th floor as the hotel is built on top of a retail mall and subway station). The room faced the street but the windows were so dirty that we could barely see out. They appeared to have not been cleaned in over a year. Also, this floor is laid out with two large meeting spaces situated right next to the sole elevator bank. The reception desks for these rooms caused large groups of people to mass outside the rooms and made it very difficult and awkward to pass through to get to your room. At one point there were close to 100 people milling about in formal wear while I was trying to go to the gym in a tank top and shorts. Very embarrassing and inconvenient.

We raised these concerns to the manager on duty, Candace who was very sympathetic and remedied the situation by moving us to a different room. She followed up to make sure we were happy and she showed great care and professionalism. The head Concierge, Angeny Singh, was a well of knowledge and one of the most charming and dear persons I have ever had the pleasure to meet! She spent unlimited time gives us directions and recommendations and then shared her vast history with both Toronto and India where we recently returned to. Ask her for a "quiz" or two if you want to be delighted. Her 30 plus years at this location is a testament to her skill, patience, and longevity.

Tip: take the Rocket express airport bus with free transfer to the subway that leaves you in the Bloor/Yonge station located directly beneath the hotel and follow signs to the Marriott. So easy and you don't even have to go outside. It is cheaper and faster than a cab and only $3 a person!

Definitely worth a look, this hotel has fantastic staff and very nice accommodations. From the moment I walked through the door to checking out the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. My check in was speedy, the turn down service was a nice added touch and the room was spotless. Not to mention the bed was extraordinarily comfortable (I want one for my home!) with plenty of pillows! I only had a beer at the hotel restaurant, but again, my server was friendly and went out of his way to anticipate my needs. The subway is extremely close and there are plenty of taxi's available. The only caveat to this location would be if you are taking a taxi from Union Station, which was about $40.00 rt, you may run into traffic.
