Owner description: Canada's majestic castle and Toronto’s premier historic attraction. In 1911, Sir Henry Pellatt engaged noted architect E.J. Lennox to help him realize a lifelong dream, the creation of an Edwardian castle on the top of a hill overlooking Toronto. It took 300 men nearly three years to complete the nearly to 200,000 square foot castle at a cost $3,500,000 (at the time). Situated on 5 acres, Casa Loma was the largest private residence in Canada. Sir Henry Pellatt with his wife Lady Mary enjoyed Casa Loma for less than ten years before financial misfortune forced him to abandon his home. The tour of the castle is self-guided. Visitors can experience the castle at their leisure with the aid of multimedia audio guides.

Casa Loma has amazing exterior however it is different on the inside, at least for me. I am not a history lover and I think for the entrance price, it is overpriced. I will come back for my wedding picture however, It looks very nice

“OK place to go”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

Cool place to visit at least once as it is a castle in the midst of the city. Great for anyone interested in history. Lots of original furniture and artwork.

“Go at Events Times of the Year”

My kids have visited Casa Loma numerous times. They like free photos with Santa in Dec., tea times, and especially the view from the top tower.
In summer and fall, enjoy the foliage in the outdoor gardens and grounds. The underground tunnel opposite the main building's basement pool leads to the opposite side side of the street, near the former stables and greenhouse. You can spend 1-5 hours here, depending on how much museum-type reading you prefer. Festive times afford nice decorations and photo opps. Just bring a flash!

Had a visit and was neat to see but they had some of the parts closed due to setting up for a filming of a movie. I wish they had this information available before paying the premium price for admission. What was open was great.
