It was a bit of a trek from the part of Toronto we stayed in, but I'm glad we went! It was a beautiful sight to see and the self-guided tour inside was very interesting and informative.

I spent a few hours touring Casa Loma. They had a lot of staff on hand and were all friendly. They rent spaces out as they were setting up for some event.
I enjoyed the walk up to the tower. The movie they show of the history is not to be missed. It's on the 3rd floor.
Get the audio guide free with admission. Get it in the basement.
There is an on site cafe. The gardens were not open yet but recall from previous visits its worth going outside. The garden inside room is spectacular. Money was not spared. He and his wife lived the high life for many years. Seemed he spent much much more than he earned. It's a must see if your new to Toronto. I am a returning visitor. This maybe my 4th visit over 40 years

We were entertaining out of town guest for the weekend and they were interested in visiting Casa Loma. We had a great visit, the place is very well maintained. We took the audio guide and followed the guided visit at our own pace. It was very informative and interesting. We had a fast lunch at the cafe and were quite impressed with the quality of the food they serve there. They had real well prepared salads and paninis. Very enjoyable visit.

I must admit we only went here because the weather was bad and we wanted to go somewhere inside but I actually quite liked it. We got the audio tour (which is free) and knowing nothing about Casa Loma, I found it all quite interesting. We didn't get to see all the rooms and there was some filming taking place at the time and the film crew were using some rooms. My 15 yr old son seemed a bit bored but then we found the turrets and and tunnels. He really enjoyed these.
