This Conservatory was beautiful. I took so many pictures of flowers, cactus plants, turtles and fish. Whoever takes care of this place does a fantastic job. I have never seen so many varieties of flowers and cactus under one roof. It was free to the public and a photographers dream. I recommend it.

Allan Gardens is one of our favourite stops in Toronto. No matter the season, it's a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff prepares special floral displays for Christmas and Easter season, but the plants are lovingly cared for year round.

Waterfalls, statuary, and park benches to relax upon are among the highlights of this classic Victorian conservatory. Most of the displays are of tropical vegetation, but one section is given over to desert flora, with a nice variety of succulents and cacti.

Allan Gardens is a brief walk or a short hop on the Carlton Streetcar from the busyness of Yonge Street, but you will become part of a new world of quiet relaxation the moment you step inside. Be sure to bring your camera.

We found the Allan Gardens quite by accident and we are glad we did. We were staying in the hotel right accross the street and it was raining very hard, Upon checking out the greenhouses accross the street we found Allen Gardens. They are very old and time worn but the variety of plant life in there is amazing, You have to see it to believe it but if you are interested at all in exotic plants and flowers this is the place to go, and admission is FREE.
