With free WiFi and public computers, any one of the 99 Toronto Public Library Branches is a super spot for any tourist visiting Toronto. The helpful staff will assist with hotel and restaurant recommendations and are extremely knowledgeable about local tourist spots and the easiest way to get there.
If you're travelling with teens, you might drop them at the Toronto Reference Library on a hot day where they can surf the net and keep their social networking up-to-date. The Reference Library at Bloor and Yonge also houses The Arthur Conan Doyle Collection, one of the world's foremost collections devoted to the author of Sherlock Holmes.

Or drop in to the latest hot branch, Fort York at 190 Fort York Blvd. where you can check out the sharpest new library in the city and perhaps be lucky enough to tour their Digital Innovation Centre. 3D Printer anyone? Right beside Fort York - where Toronto began.

Toronto Public Library is the largest library system in North America.

The Toronto Public Library, or the TPL to its legion of members, is undoubtedly one of the greatest municipal lending facilities in the world. Its collections and circulation figures are or have been Number 1 on the planet, its online services and huge branch operations are superb, and its popularity with "bookies" is second to none. Friendly and effective staff, the ability to reserve new releases on line, and the sheer scope of its services simply make it "the best" of public lending libraries in the entire world.

This is a great facility for Torontonians and unless our mayor decides to do something moronic and cut funds for it, this is really worth visiting. It has a wide selection of books, and you can even rent some movies from it. Some branches also have a Museum pass program to get free tickets for city attractions like the AGO, the ROM, Casa Loma, Ontario Science Center or the Toronto Zoo. Overall, this is a great place with great resources!

Went there to do some studying, lots of sittings places (almost full), quiet and easily accessible, close to the metro station
