“Great Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2014

I loved the location, very close to everything. the room was very clean, functional. The wifi was a little iffy though. it didnb't work in all parts of the room. Staff was helpful. I would stay there again. Not to sure what else to say but I need 200 characters.

A great getaway in the heart of downtown Toronto. The location was an asset as I barely used my rental car during my stay st the hotel. I would definitively suggest this hotel yo my pears next time they come in town.

Awesome - except for Mr. "Liney" at the front desk. After that initial room assigment - we were treated very well- sending a fax to the hotel- very disappointed with the first room. Discovered that the 1-800 number didn't know what was really available at the hotel

Dear Judy S

Thank you very much for taking the time to post areview about your recent stay with us and I am so happy that everything was "awesome". This tells me that even though we met and exceeded your expectations, we still did not deliver on the check in process and perhaps you did not catch one of our associates at their best and our Front Desk Manager Matt would love to talk with you about this, so that the next time you join us absolutely everything is awesome. His email is matt.scriven@hilton.com. Thank you for choosing us and we hope to hear from you soon.

We weren't expecting too much given the area but were delighted from the time we entered the hotel to the time we left. We were staying there for the Canada Day Blue Jay Game and found that the location was very good for what we had planned. We walked from the hotel to the stadium and back again. We also walked to the Eaton's Centre for lunch and also walked to Front and Yonge Street for dinner. The hotel was excellent from the check-in to the room and the departure. The only thing was that parking was a bit pricey at 29.00 for 24 hours.

Dear 518mariani

Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review of our hotel and I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. Our location is amazing and we are close to so many of Toronto's sought after locations. One other tremendous advantage we have is that we are a 1 minute walk from the main bus terminal in Toronto and because of our great location, many of our guests choose to bus to Toronto and take advantage of that. Thank you so much for staying with us.

Very comfortable, cozy, well decorated and designed rooms. Mine had a view of the CN Tower. It was an easy walk to downtown locations and near several good places to eat. The fitness center was also of much higher quality than you normally find in a hotel. The pool was excellent and great weight facility.

Room Tip: Toronto is a big, noisy city, so ask for a higher room if you need quiet.

I booked this hotel for a 1 night stay in Toronto through a comparison website and got it for a very good price online. Our main reason was the central location but after reading the negative reviews on here I was dubious whether I had made the right choice. But I needn't have worried.

Upon arrival we were greeted with the warm signature cookies, which are absolutely delicious by the way and we couldn't resist a second helping, check-in was quick and efficient and the reception staff and concierge were very friendly and professional. Our room had modern decor, newly refurbished, clean and crisp white linen with a nice cotton duvet rather than the nasty synthetic unsanitary blankets you get in so many other 4 star hotels.

The king size bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was well stocked with high quality honey and coriander toiletries. We made use of the gym and pool and parked our car in the underground self parking lot which allows you to drive in and out as many times as you like over the 24-hour booking term.

We went out for dinner and breakfast so I am not able to comment on the restaurants in the hotel (but the 3rd cookie on check-out was very much appreciated!) but all other aspects of our stay were fantastic. I am really surprised to see so many negative reviews on here, we travel extensively and have stayed in 4/5 star hotels all over the world and I would not hesitate to highly recommend this one. If our travels will ever take us back to Toronto I will definitely come back to the Doubletree by Hilton Downton.

We stayed at the Hilton Doubletree in Toronto because it had a competitive rate and, at $29/night, the cheapest parking amongst its competitors. We were placed in a Hilton rewards room which was recently renovated and very comfortable. Although small, the room was well laid out and the water pressure was amazing! Well located behind the City Hall, it is very close to attractions, restaurants and shopping. Well definitely recommend.
