As those have stated before me the prime location of this hotel makes it vey appealing. We did find the breakfast at the hotel overpriced , however many restaurants and coffee shops nearby and the very large, appealing Loblaws a few doors down will satisfy any hunger pains. Said store also boasts an upstairs liquor store for those who are in the market. The hotel itself has a beautiful lobby, is very clean and the rooms though small have all that is needed. We paid a bit extra for the executive room and although maybe smaller than a normal executive it was well equipped. Beds very comfortable. The hotel does have secure parking...at a fee. The elevators are slow , need the room key to activate and must be used on specific sides to go to the parking garage. Does the job for a downtown Toronto hotel.

Nice hotel within walking distance of so much in the greater downtown area. Very close to transit shopping eateries entertainment pubs etc. Also quite reasonable rates. Rooms are small but very efficient. They have excellent showers.

Lets just start by saying: I AM a hotelier: I am the Front Office Supervisor at a hotel in Washington, D.C. We tend to notice alot, but not complain as much, as we are usually on the other end of the complaints.

With that being said, I thought this hotel was nice. Everything seems to be recently updated. Lobby area was nicely decorated and they had the appropriate staffing to handle their business levels. (No wait in line!)

The location was VERY good. Being my first time in Toronto, I did not have a hard time finding anything. The subway (or metro?) was just about a block away and that took us to EVERYWHERE we needed to go. They also have several streets directly around the hotel to walk and shop and sight-see. I don't mean those "tourist" triple-the-price stores. I mean real stores, where you can actually afford things.

We took a 13-hour trip from Washington, D.C. to Toronto overnight and we were very appreciative of the 11:00AM check-in they allowed us to have (at no charge). Check-In was just OK. I noticed that most of their agents were just standard: nice, but not really personable. Nonetheless, they efficiently checked us in. Hotel was HUGE compared to my home area (I think they had 23 floors?) and the "use your key for the elevator" thing was cool, and something i'm use to back home.

Getting up to the room was not too difficult, nice signage. We were on the 6th floor right across from the ice machine room and next door to the pool. Didn't hear any noise though, even if we did, who cares.

The room itself was small but fit our needs. We are not very picky, but do have standards, of course. Did notice peeling paint in the shower on the ceiling, didn't report it, as I honestly didn't care to. I'm sure it didn't get there overnight.

Sleep quality was very good (besides the Housekeeper coming into our room 3 hours after check-in thinking we were a checkout.) Again, happens sometimes at my property, so whatever.

Tried to call back to DC, and inquired at the Front Desk how much it would cost to make the call from the room. She didn't know and guessed "maybe $1?". I said fine and decided to try it out and make it quick. Ended up getting charged $5.70, but that's okay.

Did not eat at the hotel for dinner so can't comment there.

On the morning we were checking out, they were very nice about giving us extra time. That was certainly a plus. We ate breakfast at the hotel for $20/pp - it was pretty good and the attendants were friendly.

We were not departing until much later in the evening, so we left our luggage with them throughout the day. No prob.

One thing to note: It seems like you can ask anyone anything there and they will find the answer! Never the "go ask the Front Desk" thing that I'm use to. I asked the bellman about internet in the lobby as he was retrieving our luggage and he went over and got us a access code. Good impression.

All in all, hotel was good, and I would definitely stay there again when visiting Toronto.

Thank you for a great visit!

Room Tip: Higher floors with a street view - at night you can see the whole city!

Hotel did not compare to other HI properties. While rooms have been updated they are extremely tiny. I had a small window that opened to a long narrow corridor between buildings. You are trading room size for proximity to downtown. I was here for a business meeting so it wasn't a big deal, but the meeting room also did not meet expectations. Two large pillars obscured speakers and room temperature varied to extremes. All in all, it was adequate, but not what I've come to expect of HI.

The location was perfect. The parking lot was underground and led directly into the lobby. The rooms were very small but they are all over the Toronto area. The staff could not be more accomodating. We needed more cups and they were brought up within five minutes. Nellie at the front desk was very helpful as was Alec from the sightseeing desk. The subway is steps away.

My friend and I stayed at this Holiday Inn and we don't regret it for one bit. The location is great, right across is the train. Lost of restaurants, store and things to do. Walking distance to other places in town. The lobby is very nice, the room was very clean but very small at the same time. The decor is modern which I like. The pool was amazing and a nice size. I would stay here again!

Room Tip: Rooms are very clean!
