stayed there for 4 days. Friendly staff. Anthony is the best! The price is excellent for the winter when there were not many visitors for beaches. Location is good too. 501 light rail takes about 20-30 minutes to downtown.

Room is clean and well maintained. Quiet and comfortable. Free Internet and pretty good breakfast. The only problem I encountered was that there was a couple who were apparently had issues at one night. They were screaming at 3 in the morning. They were kicked out finally.

I spent two nights with my wife at this location last week during an official visit to Toronto. Contrary to what some other visitors’ comments on tripadvisor, our experience were much better than expected. The location was just fantastic, we parked our car at the hotel and used public transport to get around, and that was very convenient. Room was clean and comfortable. The product we got for the price paid was very good. At check-in, we met Anthony and Checked-out with Gregory, both treated us very well. We will certainly return.

I have stayed in many days inns on my travels to USA previously and still like their value for money offering. For a party of 2 male adults the 2 double bed rooms are a great plus along with free wifi and cable TV stations for under $100 a night is all I want. Location is out of town but the streetcar (501) stops outside and takes you to all major intersections within downtown in approx. 20 mins and I preferred the out of town more "real" location with the ability to travel into town easily as and when we wanted. Nice local bars, shops and boutiques all close by for exploring and walkable to the beachfront and views of Lake Ontario. Staff very helpful assisting us with a spare battery charges which we had forgot and plenty of local advice and transport options to the places we wanted to go. Free breakfast was also a plus

My husband and I paid $665.84 (without taxes) for a four night stay for a room with a kitchenette. (I was told it was the only room available, and we needed a room in that area.) The kitchenette was clearly unsanitary: dust, grime and food crumbs covered surfaces on the shelves--food particles were stuck to some plates and glasses. You felt sticky grease on the stovetop, countertops and all cupboard handles. I took a picture of the large bag of what appeared to be food/spices that was left in one of the kitchen cupboards. Disheartened, I filled the sink with soapy water to try to clean dishes and surfaces--but realized I didn't pay for a hotel room so that I could come in and clean a disgusting mess I did not make. We paid for cleanliness, and Days Inn did not deliver.
The draining board was literally covered in grime and what looked like food bits. Furthermore, no dishcloth was provided. When I requested a dishcloth, I received a facecloth from the bathroom.
When I showed the housekeeper the draining board she laughed. I then proceeded to show the man at the front desk. He said he was the manager, and he didn't seem to care. He stood there making excuses. Fortunately, a maintenance person, Vern, happened to pass by, took one look at the draining board and said, "That is disgusting."
Later, Vern knocked on our room door, handed us the draining board he had personally cleaned himself, and asked if he could inspect the kitchen. When he had a good look at it, he agreed that the kitchen was badly neglected and unsanitary. He said it was inexcusable and unacceptable.
I tried writing a complaint on an online form Days Inn says it provides for its customers; but, when I tried to submit it it kept stating that the site was "being serviced", so could not submit the form. No where is there an address to reach anyone in real authority. I feel Days Inn is giving us false promises of cleanliness and, from our experience, lacks respect for its customers. We were charged for a kitchen we could not use due to its unsanitary condition. That's robbery.

Room Tip: Check out room before paying.

The property is no more or less than you would expect for the money. The room was clean and adequate. The staff friendly and helpful. There is an Irish pub next door and a convenience store and laundromat across the intersection. All in a good value property at a fair price. Gregory was a ray of sunshine and a diligent worker.

I would allow the Days Inn Beaches some latitude if they hadn't been so expensive. I was part of a wedding party that booked a block of rooms and the deal they gave is was $129 a night. And the regular price was $129 a night. Not much saving for volume trade there. Its an old hotel and the air quality was not good. The through the wall air units were inefficient at best and the windows were screwed shut so you could not open them for fresh air. The continental breakfast room is tiny, only three tables, and the variety of offerings is minimal, cereals and croissants and bread and some tiny, and I mean tiny, muffins.

Regardless, the rooms were clean and everything worked. The beds were excellent and the units were quiet. The staff were kind and cooperative, as they should be, and all reservations were correct. Parking was free which helped the cost factor.

Room Tip: Make sure the room you rent is wider. One of the rooms I saw was no more than eight feet wide, allow...

Dear Ted 1945

Please accept our sincere thanks for the recent comments and compliments on Tripadvisor regarding your experience with our hotel.

With regards to some of your comments, we wish to offer following response;

Our room rates are market driven and are subject to change, (reflects supply & demand). The rate of $129 was a discounted rate compare to our average daily rate which was much higher during peak season.

Our continental breakfast consist of basic items such as; Coffee, Tea, Bagels, Toast, Croissants, Cereals, Juice, fresh fruits etc. Seating is limited, however, our customers are allowed to take breakfast to their room with no objections.

All our ground floor room windows are closed for safety reasons.

We offer different room types at the hotel. Each category has a different price range. Room with two queen beds are fairly larger than two double beds and the price is little higher.

We thank you for your valued patronage and hope to see you again.

If you stay here, request a room that isn't on the bottom floor, as the windows do not open and it is quite stuffy and smelly. We stayed here two separate times on the same vacation - first time on the second floor which was good. It's clean but the a/c was very loud. The internet is slow and they charge you $1.00 for local calls. The second time we stayed was not a good experience as we were on the first floor and the windows are screwed shut. If you need a cab, call or hail it yourself - don't get the front desk to order it. When we left for the airport, the front desk guy called us a cab, then he waited outside for it to come and charged the driver $10.00 for getting him the business! I'm sure that upped our price as I heard the flat rate was $60.00 and our cab ride cost us $70.00. It is easy to get down town from here and the beautiful sandy beach is walking distance. I wish there were more restaurants near, but there were a few. It shouldn't cost so much for what you get, but it was one of the cheeper places to stay in Toronto.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the bottom floor, they are dark, and stuffey as the windows don't open.

Dear Cheryl R

Please accept our sincere thanks for the recent comments and compliments on Tripadvisor regarding your experience with our hotel.

With reference to some of your comments, our response as follows:

We keep all our ground floor room windows closed for safety reasons.

We regret to note that you had an issue with the Air conditioner during the first visit. If you had notified the front desk, this issue could have been resolved to your satisfaction.

Average taxi fare to the Airport is around $65. Front Desk Staff can assist you in getting this organized with no extra cost.

We thank you for your valued patronage. Hope to see you again.
