We stayed at this hotel on Sat. Mar. 22 for one night. We booked a King Suite and emphasized we wanted a quiet location. We were very pleased with our room and the pool. Unfortunately our hope for a quiet room and a good night's sleep were not to be.
About midnight, we heard screaming from down the hall. After 1 a.m., we were awakened by a very loud disturbance in the hall. We looked through the peep hole and were shocked to see 3 young adults directly outside our bedroom door, which had a broken additional lock. They were using extremely foul language, yelling, screaming and arguing intensely.
At 1:35 a.m., we called the front desk to send someone, to break this up. Again at 2:05 a.m. another call to the front desk because they were back, running the halls and still using very inappropriate language, filthy actually. We were told that security had been up and no one was found. He seemed impatient about our complaint. The noise continued in the hall, for some time but gave up on another call, as it seemed pointless.
We discussed our complaint with the front desk at check out and were told security had made 6 trips to the 5th floor before they could catch them. They acknowledged there had been many complaints from the floor. We were also told the hotel was fully booked and did not have sufficient security to get a handle on the problem. They said they eventually caught them in rooms, that some of them had not booked. They were kicked out of the hotel and charged.
It is our view we should have been compensated for our terrible, stressful night and loss of sleep. They offered us, a smiling and less than sincere apology. The hotel representative (no nametag and did not identify herself) said she was very familiar with Best Western internationally and there was nothing she could do. Compensation is only offered, if a guest has an issue with something broken in the room, for example, as she said, a broken sink. She, when pressed, offered us breakfast We declined as our evening room service meal, from the hotel dining room was awful. They just wanted us to pay our bill and be gone.
We have had excellent experiences at another Best Western Plus, where we have stayed many times and are very surprised, at the poor level of customer service we received, at this hotel. It is our intention to share our comments directly with Best Western. We certainly did not get what we paid for and would never stay at this hotel again.
