“Our New Favorite !!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2013

This was our first time at Le Germain attending the Taylor Swift concert with our two daughters aged 10 and 12. Right from the first moment pulling up to valet parking, the attendant was offering to take some used coffee cups and empty water bottles to the garbage for us.

Our room wasn't quite ready for us....but we arrived at noon and check in is at 3, so we didn't expect to get in at that time. We just wanted to park and go and grab some lunch. The concierge was very friendly, directing us to the private guest lounge on the second floor so we could freshen up in the washrooms and grab a complimentary hot beverage. That was nice and made a great first impression.

Check in was quick and the room was gorgeous. Very modern as stated in previous reviews. Wi-fi signal was strong and didn't need a password to sync all our devices. Very clean...spotless....in fact I couldn't find a flaw if I tried. No foul smells and the cooling system work very well and wasn't loud at all, like most hotel rooms. Room was very quiet at night even being in a busy part of the city.

My favorite was likely the beds, pillow and linens....truly a 5 star quality. They even sent up some fun pillows and children sized robes for our girls without us asking...that was a nice touch. We all had an amazing sleep.

Breakfast was a quality step up from the regular continental breakfast you would expect. Very nice.

The price of Le Germain might be a few more dollars ($30-$60) than a room at another hotel close by, but it is definately worth every penny. This will be the only place we stay in Toronto from now on.

Room Tip: Use the self parking...only $18/day compared to $40 plus tax if you use vallet. It is in the same p...

Dear Pete D,

It sounds like you and your family had a great concert experience. If the girls catch wind of any other shows they’d like to attend, we’d be delighted to recreate the experience.

Of course, we put as much effort into romantic escapes as well…

Regards,

We booked the Hotel le Germain on the basis of the Tripadvisor reviews and had three nights there, followed by a further night at the end of our touring holiday of Southern Ontario and Quebec before flying back to the UK. Of all the hotels we stayed in in Ontario and Quebec on this holiday, and there were a number, this was by far the best of them all. When we came back to Le Germaine for our one night before heading back to the UK, we were welcomed back and greeted by all the staff as if we were old friends - family even - and they certainly made us feel at home.

We had a sixth floor room 618 which overlooked a rear courtyard and it was so quiet from both outside, and from the inside corridor, it was hard to believe we were in downtown Toronto. The room had everything the business or holiday customer could want - even down to free wifi. And the coffee and tea are free all day in the second floor sitting area. The general decor and ambience of the whole hotel hit just the right note.

Susan - and all the staff on the front desk - were extremely helpful and when asked, arranged a reservation for us for an evening meal at the CN Tower restaurant. Next morning they all inquired if we had enjoyed the meal - which we had. And all the staff had a great knack of remembering our names which made it even more personable.

The hotel location is great for the CN Tower and the main shopping centre. Union Train Station is a few steps away, as well as the Toronto Islands ferry.

If you stay there we are sure that Susan, the concierge, will point you in the right direction of a great supermarket on the lower floor of the Maple Leaf Centre, and direct you to all the tourist places that you must visit in "Trawno".

It is a pity Tripadvisor only has five star ratings as this hotel and its team deserves six!

We would heartliy recommend this hotel.

Dear almalmac,

Though we would be happy to see six stars too, we’re thankful that you took the time to give us five. We appreciate the positive review.

Trawno! It sounds like you fully embraced our local culture during your time here. We look forward to welcoming you back for your next trip, during which Susan will be sure to share a few
more gems.

Happy Travelling.

My husband and I stay sometimes stay here when traveling on business. The hotel is very quiet and if any little issues arrive they are always delt with immediate attention. Very Good staff, i can not compliment them enough. Attention to details - toiletries are great. Gym is excellent and the bottled water is free and plenty.

*Two tiny things: wish the coffee were better. They have a cappuccino machine, but it tastes v artificial. And they charge an arm and leg for nespresso pods in-room. (Tip: bring your own pods from home). And lastly it'd be a nice touch if they equipped the room with a shoe horn. It's done at some other hotels and it's a good addition to a toiletry kit (and theirs is already pretty awesome). *

Our family took a drive to the beautiful city of Toronto, to check out the sights. We booked a 6 night stay at the Hotel Le Germain, next to the Air Canada Centre. The hotel is a modern, hip hotel with the sounds of "lounge" music playing throughout the lobby, bar and 2nd floor breakfast area. Our room was on the 4th floor facing the CN Tower (which our nearly 2 year old loved to look at).
We booked a king superior room. The room was very clean and decorated in a modern style. It had a fully stocked mini bar, a flat screen Samsung tv (55") and cool room lighting controls. The room key is swiped to gain access to the room and used to turn on all the lights (the room key is placed in a slot by the door and must stay in the slot to keep the lights on. Nice idea to make sure all the lights are shut off when you leave the room. There's even a button by the bed that when turned on will alert housekeeping to "clean" your room when you head out for the day. Be aware that the shower/bath, sink and toilet are all in one open room and can be closed off from the bedroom with 2 sliding doors. Although minor, there were very few HD cable channels and often interruptions of "a weak signal" on a few of the tv stations. Could have used a description of each station.
A generous continental breakfast is included in the price of the room. Available were a selection of cheeses, assorted sliced fruits, varieties of yogurt and granola, juices, breads, jams and marmalades, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs and pastries. And of course, coffee and tea.
The staff is very attentive. From the front desk staff to the concierge, valet attendants and the breakfast room wait-staff, all were very friendly and professional. One plus about staying at this hotel is the convenience of a supermarket located in the lower level of the centre, where you can buy almost anything.
Highly recommend this hotel! Can't wait to stay here again on our next trip to Toronto!

Some hotels like the Four Seasons, Shangri-La, Ritz and Trump get a lot of press. However, one should not over look this gem of a boutique hotel. The service is top notch from the door men very quick on their feet to open the door for you, to being greated by people working in the breakfast lounge. The rooms are elegant and very well thought out - it's like they *get* what travellers need but done in a very chic and stylish manner. The only thing I guess one *could* quibble on, the giant photo of the semi-nude athlete could have been replaced with something else but still keep a tribute to the athletic theme they wanted.

Great rooms, great service, excellent location.
I've stayed there twice for business this month, and staff remembered me and made me feel even more comfortable the second time around.
Make sure to visit Shannon at the bar for the best company and Caesar Canada has to offer!

I can't say enough about the amazing level of service and quality at Le Germaine Maple Leaf Square. Gregory the concierge and Keegan in F&B are exceptional staff. They both went above and beyond with our last minute requests and late nights. Please extend our utmost thanks to all your amazing staff.
